Went to bed last night with a slight sniffle, woke up this morning feeling like death warmed up. - Constant running nose
- Dry throat & coughing
- Banging headache
- Dull ache all over my body
- Shivering, even though I'm warm
- No appetite whatsover
Seriously I'm dying here. Tell my family I love them and that I went out fighting rather than a whimpering ball of aching snot.

Should have the flu jab started having it 3 years ago not been bad since. Just feel a bit off a couple of days after the jab. Best tenner I've ever spent

Drink at least 3 liters of water mate. Even though you feel like you can't, it'll do you good. I suggest try Lukewarm water, it's easier to drink when ill. Rest up, take a week off work if you can. Keep monitoring you're temperature. Give it a week or so and you'll be golden

Sounds horrible I always have s few hot toddies when I have the lurgy, usually knocks me out for the night I crush a paracetamol between two spoons and chuck it in a mug with a good slosh of whiskey, some honey, lemon juice, teaspoon of sugar and top up with boiling water. I've found the Beechams Flu Plus capsules pretty good as well. At least you've probably reduced your odds of being ill over Xmas

I wish I could, the juice of one bottle of whiskey sounds brilliant right about now. Sadly though I can't drink anymore, thanks to medication I haven't touched a drop for a year now. Got some smoked haddock chowder on the go though, see if that helps any.

If you can get it elderflower and peppermint sugar to taste brings out a fever quickly
other way to do it is elderflower cordial and peppermint teabags,
The reason my family recommends this was years ago when my mum was a little girl the dr was called out and said ill be back in the morning to sign the death certificate my grandma stayed up all night spooning this in her the next day the dr came back to sign the certificate and there was my mum sitting up in bed fever broke etc.
I told this story years later when I was older to a herbalist in Bromley when I was buying some he said he wasn't surprised and try adding yarrow to it as it gives it a boost.
The other thing is it is 100 % safe and if you add the sugar it tastes quite good

I had an appointment at my local GP for a flue jab this week.
I happen to know a practice nurse at another surgery and mentioned it to her. I saw the look on her face and thought “OH OH” ?
It would seem that the origional batch provided and administered does not protect against the latest strain comeing from the Soutern Hemisphere. She tells me that many 65+ patients have been ill following the inoculations. Her advice was to ask, “ Is this the three or four strain inoculation ?.”
Far from me to give medical advice on the internet but it does no harm TO ASK.
I cancelled my appointment.
