seen a few who think it'll be good if we go down, to get rid of the 'Johnny come latelys'
Going down would cost loads of jobs in the area. The club would get rid of people, as would the pubs.
We'd lose the name recognition. Can't be replaced by oatcakes or ducks or whatever
Some of the good community things we do, could we afford to still do them?
It's not worth it.

Anyone wanting us to go down is deluded. I've seen a few comments along these lines, "go down, sort things out, rebuild, bounce back stronger". Yeah. Except that last bit, it isn't that easy, took us nearly thirty years last time, and look at Bolton.

'The Oatcake Arena' has a bit of a ring to it. Lets put it to the Board.

Very true mate, it's a novelty for a couple of seasons going to 'new' grounds with terracing larger away allocations but if you don't get back before the parachute payments dry up your in trouble, even though our crowds are holding at around 28-30,000 there were still job losses staff wise(upper trinity only opening for a couple of the 'bigger' games), matchday revenue is down, sponsorship revenue down, TV money massively down, like I said it's a novelty, but a novelty that needs to be short or it becomes a problem for a clubs future !

Make no mistake....we go down and we won't be coming back anytime soon. All things are cyclical and maybe it's our time to return to where we normally sit, which over the many years of football is an average Championship team. It is just frustrating that the club have pissed away a golden era with money and opportunity to have achieved some trophies. Still at least we have a 30k stadium out of the ride.

UTV Pity you cannot post that to Mr Coates a lot bigger clubs than Stoke have found out that getting back is much harder than staying in the premier league.

Nobody thought we would stay up. Nobody thought Bournemouth would go from league 2 to the premier league in 6 seasons Nobody thought Leicester would win the league ..and so on. We could implode and get relegated again, we could storm the league and come straight back up. At this moment nobody knows.

Dropping through the leagues is a footballing disaster and would result in much worse football
But the championship is the best league for fans . Anyone can beat anyone .
Basically it would be better for the fans if we were to play Sheffield utd , derby , wolves , Villa etc at 3 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon then stay in the increasingly anti- fan SKY TV league ( also Known as the premiership)

I’ve seeen us in far worse places than the championship but if we went down it would be a disaster. The shit in that league is atrocious. Give me the premiership any day of the week
