Great opportunity for young Edwards to cement a place in the team on such a big stage. Hope he shines....

He likes to introduce Tom into easy aways games! Sink or swim I guess!

Was hoping we'd seen the end of the back 3.
But Edwards at RWB and Diouf up front sweeten the pill a bit

Could be 433 with Zouma in a 3 man midfield.

Back 3 confirmed by Bowen Yeah, but let's face it, we will probably have 25% possession and it will be an 8 at the back!

Thats the most balanced 3-4-3 we have actually played this season. Bar Pieters who is never a LWB in a million years of course.
Good chance for Edwards to make that position his own, which means we wont need to go shopping for a RB in January
Diouf is the only striker we have that can play upfront on his own and make chances on the counter-attack

Back 3 against a team that always puts 4 past us
At least Edwards is getting a chance and Diouf is up top
Let's hope it works

Crouch 36 Grant 34 Cameron 32 Afellay 31 Adam 31 Berahino 24 Sobhi 20
5/7 of our subs are over 30, and only 2 of the oldies are arguably effective.

3 AT THE BACK DOESN'T WORK WITH OUR PLAYERS.
Fuck sake. Is he purposely trying to be shit?

Einstein had his say on doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results....
We do not play well with a back three. Throwing young Tom in for another backs to the wall away game at a top club when he could have played him at home to Swansea almost suggests he is preparing him to fail.

They are copying Swansea to a degree, who got a draw there earlier in the season with a back 3.

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/tottenham-stoke-city-live-spurs-902178Mark Bowen explains thinking on Edwards and formation Mark Bowen tells Radio Stoke that Edwards will be at wing-back.
He says: “One I think he deserves it. We know the team struggled at Man City but he had done arguably very well up to the time he went off and had created our goal. We know he has good delivery going forward. It’s nice to throw boys in. We haven’t had much of a chance to do that over the last few years.
“We are all pleased for him. What a place to be coming and playing your second game. It’s not bad is it? Man City away and then Wembley.
“We know he won’t let us down. We have good confidence in him. And at the same time, Mame Diouf went up front and got a goal and we’re a bit loathe to swap him back.
“I know fans will be thinking about systems and formations and of course that’s important but it’s also about organisation of the team and the will to win and all those things.
“When you come to a place like this with our record against Tottenham we wanted to go with numbers at the back and a more counter attacking game. That is what seems to have frustrated them in the last few weeks when they’ve played the likes of West Brom and Watford. We’ve tweaked that a little bit and hopefully it serves us well.”

Very matter-of-fact from Bowen there. I dunno, maybe I'm reading too much into it but the tone seems different ... Regardless the end of Diouf at RWB (hopefully) is the biggest plus here.
