I just don't get it. Nobody comes close to Maradona. Poor pitches, scrappy Serie A games, average teammates, defenders kicking lumps out of attackers but still Maradona annihilated everyone. Then in order of greatness Zidane and Gazza. Then the Dutch from AC Milan. Only then come your global brand Instagram show ponies like Ronaldo and Messi with their egos and personalised boots.

I love the Messi couldn't do it in the Prem brigade. Like no small and nimble player has ever made it here. If David Silva, Sanchez, Hazard etc. can be successful, then the greatest of all time most certainly can.

I don't know why, though, because I bet his stats are just as impressive. Maybe it's like a previous poster said, he hasn't played in a brutal era(not his fault), but I saw absolute genius in those three, that I don't in Ronaldo.

It's as if Ronaldo is Real Madrid. Assuming Zidane doesn't last much longer the new regime will have to take the huge decision and bite that bullet and move Ronaldo on. All fine as long as he doesn't go to Paris. He seems quite Chelseaish these days.

If you watch the Messi documentary you will see a human being do things with a football that I would not have thought humanly possible prior to the arrival of Messi. Best, Gascoigne etc were great players but are not fit to be mentioned in the same breath as Messi....only Cruyff, Pele, Maradona and Zidane are. The "not played in the Premiership brigade" should go back to your caves your brontosaurus and chips is ready.
