You should have seen him in the pre match warm up. I can imagine. He does seem a lost cause like Imbula. Maybe we just have to accept the hit and try to offload the pair of them as quickly as possible. The change in his body language and mood is quite noticeable. Earlier in the season he was all smiles, brimming with positivity and he seemed happy in the group. The last few weeks he's been the polar opposite. Moody, half arsed and quite distant from his teammates. It's not good to see really. Despite a lack of opportunity he looked like he was doing the right things and biding his time. He may well still be doing just that but he certainly doesn't look so happy at the moment

Before Saturday what did he have to be happy about?
If a player makes the first goal happen and scores the second, I wouldn't question his commitment to the cause.

Mostly all most fans ask of their team and Diouf very rarely disappoints
Just behind Shaq as my player of the season

I love diouf, he works hard and puts in 100% commitment, but surely he is only doing what he gets paid to do? That was all i was saying.

He may well still be doing just that but he certainly doesn't look so happy at the moment I will quite happily lambast a player who isn't pulling their weight or knuckling down (Imbula) but I do feel sorry for Berahino. Fair enough, he probably doesn't deserve to be starting games but surely there's only a certain amount of time before you get pissed off putting in the hard work in training only to be left on the bench or out of the squad altogether. They get paid a lot of money, granted, but I still feel as though they could be handled better by the manager/coaching staff. There is only so much putting your arm round a player can achieve. He's been here a year and looks nowhere near opening his account for us. Whether you agree or not with his body language, it must be pretty soul destroying for a bloke who does actually seem to want to play football. Speaking from experience at a much, much lower level of playing football - you take being on the bench on the chin for a bit, then it starts to piss you off, then you just feel like packing it in. You live for those 90 minutes at the weekend and when you don't play for months at a time it takes its toll. He's never going to score for us, is he? He'll probably go out on loan in January and get sold for a few million next summer. It's such a difficult one to judge. Hughes can't go with him if he isn't firing on all cylinders but Berahino can't help himself if he's not on the pitch.

No real arguments from me there and when he's featured, Everton aside, I think he's worked hard for the team and generally looked OK. In the Southampton game, his penalty miss aside, I thought he looked good and sharp. As you say he can't show what he's about if he doesn't play but if his attitude is slipping in anyway, then he can't be expecting the manager to play him. He just has to be patient, keep being professional and take his chance when it comes.

Chased and out muscled Fer for goal one, quality goal 2 and then missed a chance he should have scored. Whilst he seems to miss at least one chance per game he’s still our best striker with Crouch. Whilst I’d love to se Berra up top with Crouchy I’d stick with Diouf I don't think Berra can play with crouchy because he's not super fast Crouchy needs to be alongside someone super fast to make up for the fact he's super slow and push the opposition defence back ten yards The obvious way to play against crouchy is to push up the pitch and try and keep him out of the penalty box Which is a lot easier to do if he plays with Berra , than if he plays with diouf When did we sign Christophe Berra?
