To get players like Tymon , Sparky must have offered an incentive such as play a year for the reserves, u23’s get to know the area, train with the first team and I’ll give you a chance in 18/19.

He's suffered with two major problems this season. 1. He's not a wingback. 2. Kevin Wimmer. The wingback system has left him a bit confused and Wimmer is dreadful at being sucked into midfield leaving huge gaps behind him both sides (See Ryan's excellent recovery tackle on Saturday). Play him in a back four alongside Bruno and we'll see his form drastically improve IMO. You missed a third problem that he has been suffering from for longer than this season: 3. He's not very good. A player cannot be consistently poor, making costly errors game after game and it all be the fault of someone / something else. Fans love a grafter, I get that. And the fact that he does his little clappy thing after each home game earns him even more kudos with the 110% club, but sometimes you actually have to analyse his ability to play football, and for that reason, I'm out.

Also, his name is Erik not Eric FFS. How hard is it to get our own players' names right?Ahem... So many times in the first half him and Choupo would receive the ball and just play it back stifling any attack. In no small part because Fletcher never showed for it and, as much as he might try, Alan can't be everywhere. I'd rather they went backwards when there are limited options than ran into trouble or tried a very low-percentage pass. You were saying?

Your Point 3 He is not bad at defending as a natural fullback. The manager has hung him out to dry as a wingback. A position that is alien to someone who has developed and had a relatively long and successful professional career to-date as a defender

It's takes some balls to stand up and be counted after the ridiculous stick he took in the first half .For me he is infinitely the best left back in the club and should simply be played there . Yes but he's our only left back in the club. So he's the best and the worst. There's simply no middle ground. Tymon is de facto a youth team player - except that he wasn't bread and buttered in our academy. He has never played a minute of PL football for us (but for Hull), so he does not enter the competition.

Pieters was asked about his time at Stoke City, and how he settled in at the club: “It’s not a modern or high-tech city. Here you won’t find Louis Vuitton. They are not like that in Stoke. Here life is raw and hard. But the people who live there all have a big heart. And that is why I think it’s a beautiful city.” good job he hasn't heard some on here!! link

Going from FB to WB is hardly 'alien' is it? If you listened to the excuse-makers on here anyone would think Hughes was playing him up front...

I assume he was speaking in 'Benji' so the Poole Plonker could understand him.

Pieters has been in a terrible run of form but I disagree with anyone who says it's just because he's a bad player.
He's been with us for years now and the run of form that earned him that new contract shows what a decent player he has been and can be. He's just not a wing back and Hughes has hung him out to dry by persisting on playing the back 5. It's not only Pieters who is at fault, I don't any of the back line look particularly comfortable as a back 5.

As soon as Pieters signed a new contract his form immediately plummeted and while he's slowly turned in some decent displays, he's never been as good as he was before and sometimes he's been awful. I really don't want to see him pick up his form before another contract renewal and then see the same thing happening. But he still has 2½ years on his contract...
