Good point, good performance for a lot of the game - we were creative and sometimes even bold (take a bow Shaq, especially) against a useful side away from home. All the same imho we could and should have closed them down and held it at 2-1. So yet again I'm saying defensive routines are badly in need of work. Yet again it's basic training ground stuff letting us down too often.
Nearly a 7 but we need to be raising the bar now, so it's 6 from me.

Decent performance and we carved out enough chances to win the game, but we’ve got to cut out the sloppy mistakes at the back. I would have given a solid seven, but I’m knocking a point off for his ridiculous decision to drag Shaq off when bringing Crouch on. Absolutely fucking stupid decision IMO.

Ill give him a 5. We showed character, particularly first half to take the game to them BUT we chucked away 2 points with 2 pieces of absolutely dreadful, disorganised defending - basic schoolboy mistakes that Sparky and his team should have the foresight to have sorted out by now. Also baffled by bringing Shaq off for Crouchy - Bringing Crouch on allowed Brighton to push up on us whilst simultaneously removing our biggest threat.
The game was there for the taking, but we managed to fuck it up. Again.

5. 2 massive points dropped. We’ve got enough quality on that bench that we could have called upon. It was predictable lazy management in making just one sub. And a wank one at that

3 complete utter fucking wank again, only 1 sub used, ultra defensive again, slow slow pitiful football. Is this what we call ambition? Playing for a point against Brighton. Subbed our only creative player and hoping to get a set piece to apply any sort of pressure. Fucking wank to watch. Frustrating dull shit. We got rid of our last manager and it wasn't any worse than what we're being dished up now. Gouranga.

Why did we come here tonight with all this respect for Brighton? Five defenders? The whole point with wingbacks is surely them bombarding forward making themselves available crossing it in as our wingers cut inside on their fav foot? Pieters can't cross for toffee. Diouf is no wing back even though he is working his socks off hats off to him. A big hole is fucking gaping between the nearest supporting central midfielder and Choupo-Moting who's all alone up top. Thank God Hughes spared us the sight that is Saido up there by himself. Why not just go 4-4-2 man, a 4-2-3-1, whatever. Brings Crouch on for Shaq. The one player that can put a decent cross in towards the big man. The one player on the pitch that can release it from outside the box and hit the target because although Shaqiri did look nonchalant at times in the second half you just cannot make that sub in my opinion. Fuck this. These were such important three points as well. It is a 4 at best for me.

I think someone needs to hold cue cards up for him to remind him that he can make 3 subs in a game.
For an experienced manager he makes some fucking amateurish decisions.

5. Usual overly defensive too many bodies behind the ball. As posted above no bottle to go for it. Laughable substitution. He's made us horrible to watch.

7 a decent performance overall. A strange move over shaq by any measure.
He wont get more than a 7 for me in any game were we set ourselves up for pieters to be the main crosser into the box, his delivery doesn't warrant it.
some agenda driven drivel from the usual suspects above. We were not horrible to watch in that game.

5 we played well but Hughes fucked it with the one sub he did make and the 2 other subs he couldn’t be arsed with.
He doesn’t know how to go and win a game.
Settled for a point way too early

5* Too many square pegs etc. Substituting Shaqiri was bizarre to say the least. At 2-1 we could have gone on to win it, but as per normal, sat too deep and invited them on.

Still he shouldn't take Shaq off when he brings Crouch on, that game against Northern Ireland,Shaqs delivery into the box to their target man was second to none so to pull him off and remove that was very strange indeed.

I thought we played very well and had a good go in the first half. At least he had a plan, even if it did involve playing a center forward and a full back as wingers, a winger as a center forward, a winger as a center forward and two center forwards on the bench. In other words we played 40% of the outfield players out of position. Diouf got too far forward, Brighton lumped it over his head so he ran back to try and recover. That continued until he was completely knackered and totally frustrated. So what does he do? Leaves Diouf on and takes off Shaqiri.
First half 10 Second half 0

I thought he took off Shaq to protect him long term, so I get that substitution bizarrely enough. Could however have mixed it up with one more sub but what do I know. I was happy we didn’t lose so watching off‘ve the Internet, I give him a 6.5
p.s. my pub pal who supports Brighton put a tenner on a 2:2 draw at 16/1 and got £160 back so the result wasn’t that shocking to those that watch Brighton.

6* Enjoyable game but annoying we didn’t remain more positive at 2-1 as I think we could have got more goals. Need more energy in several positions but we are picking up points - who knows might even get something at Palace?!
