If De Gea had started this season with mistakes I'd probably have put him at #2 just on form, but he's still there because we know how good he is. It's never black and white. Soooooo, taking out current form, who do you rate higher between butland and fabianski. Fabianski without a doubt.

For what it's worth, I think Fabianski is a pretty good keeper. The fact that he is in a currently dire Swansea side shouldn't be held against him.

Fabianski without a doubt. So what makes Fabianski a better goalkeeper overall, discounting form? I think he's a better shot stopper and he's a lot quicker off his line. I think Jack will become a better goalkeeper with age.

No stats produced on here from the BBC yesterday , bottom two Pickford and Butland So do you genuinely believe he is the second worst keeper in the Premier League? Just answer the question for once. I did actually answer this as other have said but it got deleted , No i believe he is a top keeper , but like all players he is subject to form and his had been badly effected by Injury , said at WBA he was off on his timing and handling and has been since , once the adrenaline of the first games subsided , its common after long lay offs in all players . Right now he is not the player he was two years ago, he will be again at some point but isn't now , what h was when he was winning us games , i.e. Man Utd at home when his save from Fellani at 2-0 was a game decider . Question Answered as requested

Do you think he's a significantly better shot stopper than him to offset him being far less commanding? In the one season in which both played regularly, he made 12 more saves than Butland and they were second and third in the league for shots saved respectively. Fair enough if you do, it's just an, erm, opinion I've not come across before...

And you didn't answer the question which was, bearing in mind the stats you were bandying about which showed Jack to be the second worst keeper in the league, do you really believe Jack is the second worst keeper in the league?

Don't know what the current status on Haugaard is.
He's been injured recently so we may have Bursik on the bench for the Brighton game.

I bet Grant will come in very motivated and keep a clean sheet at Brighton! Think he was very impressive last season and hardly ever have we experienced that our player of the season has been placed on the subs bench without being given a fair chance to keep his place! Come on Lee you really deserve some game time again!

The pessimist in me tells me that Grant can't possibly be as good as he was last year for us. Can't believe how much bad luck we seem to get with injuries. It's like someone upstairs hates us

I said not but on current form he is not measurably better than Grant , tough i know as he is a better keeper by far and last year i felt we lost punts we wouldnt have with him in the team at his best , but my love isn't blind and if Grant had conceded the goals jack has this season he would have been far more rigorously challenged poor defence or not .

Sir Ranulph Fiennes hacked off his own frost bitten fingers to save the cost of surgery for his expedition across the snowy wastes. I expect nothing less than this from Englands number 1 AND a clean sheet when he is back as a similar gesture. We're British, for the love of God.

The injury that get's Mark Hughes the sack? Major blow for us, massive. Yes, it's an absolute calamity. Sparky must be feeling a bit like Theresa May right now, blew his majority support and now key players are self destructing while on international duty. He needs to cling on tight to the wreckage for the next few games and hope for a change in fortune but the portents are not good.

He suffers with internationalcallupeopathy. It's a rare bone disorder producing too little calcium and an increase in osteoclasts. 'Jack you've been selected'...better fetch the x-ray machine.

According to the Times he broke it from the last shot of the last training session. That's our luck at the moment (and Jack's).

I wouldn't say fate has given Sparky the finger, but he must feel like an aspiring actor after 5 Babychams in a Hollywood producer's jacuzzi.

I agree with the analysis and conclusion, Jack is some way off his best and I suspect Pickford went past him last night especially in terms of ability on the ball and distribution. Burnley have coped without Heaton and we should be positive about Grant, he was excellent last year and deserves our backing

On the flip side, it will serve as a nice kick up the backside to the dopes in the recruitment department that next summer will be key, and that a quality replacement for Butland should be top priority, and that this one will be one target they won't get away with on the cheap. On current form I don’t see an obvious move for Jack and after last night Pickford will be ahead of him for England. His only options are Arsenal and Liverpool but not clear they want him
