I just wondered if there are players who only seem able to play well for one team?
Bony,Siggurdson and possibly Andy Carroll spring to mind of present players. Garry Birtles was one who I can think of in the past.

Be fair to Messi he has played for them for a decade, they also during that time were probably the best club side ever. Why would he leave?

Andy Carroll bit of a stretch. His West Ham record isn't far off his Toon one. He's just a big, injury prone striker.

El Nino, Fernando Torres. Dynamite at Liverpool, powderpuff at Chelsea.
Spurs is a bit of a graveyard for strikers too, Soldado and Rebrov both bombed out on big reputations.
What about the chosen Jaun? Juan Sebastian Veron looked like a superstar for Argentina but nearly finished Fergie early.

Don't really want to stick the knife in (too much) but: Berrahino = no teams! I hope to be proved wrong though.

Carroll when fit even did it at Liverpool, he was just never the striker for them and cost way too much.
He's just an injury prone nobhead. Cracking striker though.

I can think of more than one manager who can only do it for one team.

He was brilliant for Twente apparently. And his scoring record in Germany isn't too bad.
