Any thoughts? I have spent the entire weekend including today watching the premier league games...to be honest I wished I hadn't such is the dross that was served up. But it got me thinking about who will get 7th place and seemingly a Europa spot as the fixed League cup draw has ensured a top 6 winner. At the start of the season my money was on Everton who I still believe have the best squad outside the top 6, but they are currently a basket case. The other fancied team for 7th is Southampton and I saw enough of them against us and over the weekend that suggests it won't be them. It's currently Burnley ffs and before that Watford were in 7th. It's obviously still early but it seems wide open. What a shame we look a shambles and heading for another 'if only' season. My tip for what it's worth is still Everton but likely to be with the least number of points achieved finishing 7th for some time.

Still reckon we'll be toe to toe with Liverpool for a finishing spot. Above both Chelsea and Arsenal.
Won't win it this year I don't think though.

There is no reason why it can't be us but we will have to start playing better and strengthen in January with WBs. If only Berahino started scoring we could be a very good side particularly when we have a settled back line.
Leicester have the best squad but are a bit Jekyll and Hyde. They are at their best when they "go for it", but that is not their new manager's style.
Newcastle have done well by beating the teams that have been playing poorly this season. We are the highest placed team they have beaten though, and they have not beaten any team playing a even reasonably well. Ditto Southampton, the highest placed team they have beaten being WBA.
I'm not convinced Liverpool are nailed on top 6 side this season. They look very unconvincing to me, leaking goals.
Burnley now hold 7th position and they deserve it from consisted solid performances. If they keep it up and strengthen in January they could do it. There biggest danger is another club taking their manager away or if they suffer injuries.

7.Leicester 8.Southampton 9.Everton 10.Stoke I can see us above all of them. But behind Newcastle and maybe Watford...A credible 9th for us...

At this stage, could be almost any of the 'shit' 14, who are all capable of extreme garbage and yet can all hit the heights of absolute mediocrity.
Leicester possibly have the best squad, so they'd probably be favourites - but it's a lottery.

If I was in charge of transfers at Stoke I'd be on the phone to Leicester trying to bring Iheanacho to the club. Bloke doesn't get a kick for them and I don't see him getting a kick all season in all honesty.

I think Saido should get a run of games but Iheanacho is definitely a better player. Don't get me wrong, we would still need to improve our creativity.

Liverpool 6th and The Toon 7th. Sorry, but we won't finish anywhere near 7th place. Not in a month of Sundays.

Wow quite a few for Newcastle, I watched them last night at Burnley and they were dreadful, In fairness Benitez is doing a fabulous job of getting the best out of a bang average team full of Championship standard players. Surely it's Leicester or a future resurgent Everton. If we had got our act together in the summer and strengthened the team in the right areas it could have been our year.

This should be a push on season but not sure after the summer business its up to it. No doubting Zouma was a coup but the rest apart from glimpses I am not sure. Whoever is in charge come the summer there will be a massive overhaul with potentially Zouma & Jese leaving along with Bojan, Muniesa, Imbula, Affellay & Johnson?
