How empty was their stadium. They really do look like gonners already. On another note how bad was that Bristol C away kit.

Sunderland and Hull are both proving how hard it is if you go down

If you look at the table they are only one win away from getting out of it,but on closer inspection 1 win in 14 is awful.Really can see that club having some long hard seasons ahead of them.I would even go as far as to say Shrewsbury Town will get to the Premier League before Sunderland return to it.

I saw Simon Grayson's post-match interview on the Ch5 goals programme tonight. He doesn't half sound like Keith Lemon.

Those poor sods . Folk whining on here about the odd bad result or our 18 month dip and you look at that and think “there but the grace of god.” Like all relegated clubs you try and sift through the stinking mire for some nuggets of positivity and you comfort yourself that the slate can be wiped clean, you have a premiership squad in a league made up of largely inferior players. The reality of course (as we found in the third tier) was you are everyone else’s cup final. Your squad are over paid and looking to leap at the first chance of a top league transfer. Toughest league in the world to get out of by the main entrance .

Still wouldn't fancy our chances if we drew them away in the FA Cup 3rd round.

Still wouldn't fancy our chances if we drew them away in the FA Cup 3rd round. Because? Come on it's a tie that would be good for us.

Remember the days when they used to look down on us when we first got into the Premier League?
Couldn't happen to a more deluded fan base. I'm delighted.

And that is why attendances are dropping. No home win in a calendar year is very depressing for our fans. Some who have been going for 20 years have now stopped because of it. Proves how good you's have got it with Coates & Hughes in hindsight. A few major mishaps at management and boardroom level and you'll be where we are; heading to league one.

After a run of homes games like that to still get 27k deserves respect.

I do not shed any tears for Sunderland as a club because they have been mismanaged for years but i do feel for there fans who still turn out in there thousands they deserve better. It should be a warning though that dropping down is not to be recommended & every effort should be made to maintain your premier league status.

Simon Grayson does come along as the most boring person in football at the moment.
A bit of positive thinking might help him.
