Have they just got a higher pain threshold than everyone else or are they just not arsed anymore? I touched on this in another thread but maybe the draw of pulling in over 100m for very little effort is no longer enough against the the 24/7 spotlight scrutiny and the fact that the club doesn't print money like Bet365.
I'd completely had my fill of Hughes last January and thought the owners should have moved heaven and earth to bring Rafa away from Newcastle, or poach Marco Silva before he went to Watford. Or given their fucking idiotic 'British only' policy- Allardyce. I really think their inaction, and yeah- lack of ambition will take us down with this clown in charge.
If we're safe at the end of the season or if we get a decent points tally, please feel free to drag this thread out and say "I told you so", but given the shit I had for suggesting Hughes should be sacked and the owners weren't showing enough (for lack of a better word) devotion back in January 2016- the way things are going leaves me with nothing to say but "I told you so".
Just when is enough enough? I know they aren't trigger happy but I think they got it completely wrong this summer and this blasé attitude surrounding the club isgoing to see us relegated, whether it's this year or next.

This week is a big test fur them for sure , will they admit the summers decision to neither back him or sack him was a catastrophic mistake and they need to start to address it .

Absolutey spot on, whilst appreciating the owners giving their manager every chance, FFS this has neen going on for nearly 2 year's. Millions spent on 3 players who were not even in the side today.
Come on Mr. Chairman smell the coffee, we are all completely pissed off.... do something about it.

They gave Hughes time and money in the summer. It has been wasted.

I think they have and thank God they do. We would have ten managers a season given other owners.

Have they become bored of being in the premiership? Maybe the cost of standing still has become to much for them. Mind you the cost of regression under Hughes will only be a fraction of what life in the championship.will cost them. I’m baffled truly baffled tonight.

They need to start putting the feelers out in the world of top flight football management. They would never pull the trigger unless they had a suitable replacement available. Hughes has 4 games upcoming against teams who, on paper, we should be picking up points of some description.

Who decides which players we buy because whoever suggested and sanctioned the purchase of Wimmer, Jese etc is clearly out of touch? If the owners think this squad is good enough then they are deluding themselves or have lost interest.

I'd like to think he's seeing the bigger picture but the statements of having one poor game every so often is fucking rage inducing. What has he been watching for nearly 2 years? Does he care about how his money is sat on a bench/ fucked off on loan somewhere or invested poorly? I'm starting to think he's going fucking senile and it won't be long until he's wandering along Trentham Road his pyjamas shouting at clouds.

If we are still in the bottom 3 around xmas I think the Coates family may get twitchy bums and make a change but I cant see it happening before then.

If they make the change at Christmas then there is only one man on the planet who can save us. Will supporters then be desperate enough to have him back?

Possibly, but the one man blessed with his special grace for saving clubs from relegation would be desperate to come back and perform a miracle.

Surely something has to give.... either the coaching staff or whoever is responsible for the recruitment.
Significant sums have been spent in the last windows and most of the big money moves have been a massive flop.
I think it speaks volumes that you could eaaily argue Diouf is both our first choice striker and right back at the same time right now. He was struggling to get in the match day squad a season or two back.
This isn't knocking Diouf at all - he's a total grafter and he's done a marvellous job and I'm happy to see him in the XI at the moment... It's more to say that considering the playing staff who've come in and out the door in the last few seasons we've not progressed / gone backwards in many areas

"Stop complimenting other squads and belittling ours. This is the best squad we've had since I was born, start playing to its strength" "How can we offer anymore when all we play is negative football and players playing out of position. Time to go now #pulisout" Ah sweet, sweet nostalgia.
