Assuming this stays the same then West Ham are on the same points as us having played Swansea, Huddersfield, Brighton and Burnley. We are doing okay, given the fixtures we have had we should be in the relegation zone. League table suggests all of those are better than us , only us and Bournemouth have lost to Everton so tomorrow really is a game of the battle of the losers Oh well, if we're playing that game; we're the only team outside the top 4 to have beaten Southampton this season....

He's hated so much now because he was loved so much before. I think he's hated so much now Dave because of the manner in which he left. Butland is loved just as much (if not more) by the fans but he won't be hated once he's left because you already know that he'll act like a gentleman when he goes. If he was as crap as some would have us believe there wouldn't be a weekly thread about him and no one would give a shit how he left.

1 in 10 maybe but........... He was defiantly our most "entertaining" player to watch over the last 18-20 months in this team of drab grey boring individuals now wearing stoke shirts...... Unless of course you just like watching goals go in no matter which team happens to scores them Entertaining, possibly on occasion, Rather have the 25 million though. Really!! It is a pity that you are going to have to wait 5 years to recoup the full £25mil to give you that good feeling, how is that going to leave all your stresses behind from the working week and enable you to lose yourself for 90 mins whilst being entertained on a Saturday afternoon..... Ooooo I know we can splash most of the cash that we are still yet to receive from WHU on an entertaining no nonsense player like Wimmer, if spurs will agree to a catalogue HP system of payment like Stoke have of course.

I couldn't help thinking about Arnies performance for us against West Ham when he had the goals disallowed then eventualy scored. Contrast that to his performance last night and it was kind of sad for him and us. The much fabled BMX seems like a dream to me now and it's back to porridge, no honey!

Arni was never worth £20m+, and was poor for us for his first half season and the first half of his second season. But he has ability, he is physical enough to play in English football, and will have some good matches and win the odd match for you. You can probably rely on him playing very well about 25% of the time and lousy in another 25%. He was still our best forward and we miss him, but not as much as Everton miss Lukaku! Shaqiri has been better since he left as he is now "the man". Unfortunately he is a "sick note" like Carroll. Maybe Arni's presence (on the pitch and in the dressing room) is impacting on your other team members. That's just not true. Watch the 2013/14 season review and you'll see that Arnie was at the centre of a lot of the good things we did. The top and bottom of it is that a lot of people didn't take to him because of his body language and perceived poor attitude. We're now getting history re-written about how well he did for Stoke because Neville and Carragher have shot him down. Did he ever come in for such criticism when he was a Stoke player? Anyway, Arnie's made his bed and he has to lie in it, but he did well for us. Afraid it is true. This board was highly critical of his when he started and spectators were annoyed; it was not just his body language and failure to chase back, which he actually improved a lot on, but he didn't actually produce a lot. He did make Hughes smile when he left a man for dead. The season review picks out the good bits. He was also poor at the start of his second season, but again improved, but his goal scoring went backwards. In his 3rd season he was a much improved player generally, going for goal and generally destroying RFBs but he still had poor games when he was anonymous. I'm sure I'm not rewriting history but giving a balanced opinion. I was an Arni fan, but never thought he was brilliant, except in patches.

On the subject of arnie
If wimmer is 18 million arnies fee wasn't that much out.
His body language is part of his fame, alot don't like it, especially when your losing. But he does it to gain space, making defenders think he isn't switched on. But his reaction is unbelievable when required.
I wish he was still here. But equally I still think he is a cunt

West Ham's record is almost identical to ours, 8 points and a goal difference of minus 9, although they have played the extra game tonight, if Bilic is done it doesn't bode well for old Sparky, if we lose tomorrow his record will be worse than Bilic. For what it's worth I wouldn't sack either of them but calm down folks, people in glass houses and all that... We have had the harder fixtures though.

If he was consistently top class, one of the big 6 clubs or a CL winning club would be after him. As it was Everton shied away from him last year and West Ham showered more money than is sensible this year.

But they’ve spent reams more than us and have played half as many members of last year’s top six as us. I know you think everyone in the world is better than us and marvel when we manage to tie our own shoelaces but come on.

If butland left for a West ham or Southampton, I'm not so sure he'd be warmly received. Arnie didn't really say anything untoward did he? That shit came from his brother. The manner of the departure obviously doesn't help but it is the club he went to that causes the most angst
