What has happened to the independent inquiry into tory Islamophobia? It seems to be going at an incredibly slow pace.

What has happened to the independent inquiry into tory Islamophobia? It seems to be going at an incredibly slow pace. Don’t forget the one that Javid, Hunt and Johnson agreed to undertake during the election debate when they were live on national TV. It’s almost like the media don’t hold them up to the same levels of scrutiny for some reason?

They absolutely will get round to it, I’m sure of it. Just let them sign up fully to the IHRA definition of antisemitism first, they’re still thinking about that. Lucky for Gove really as his coke and red wine fuelled twitter rant last night would have breached the guidelines.....

The banner also talks about Storm Sandy hitting the US, which it did in 2012.

The tweet was today, maybe an old story rehashed as they stood again at the last elections. According to that Gatestone Institute (a noticeable source of utter bullshit over the last few years) - which I think is the original source - in 2012 neither of the two actually stood on a platform of bringing in Islamic law.

Yesterday she was cynically pretending that 9 years of tory wage repression and in-work benefit cuts have been good for working people.

I don’t know whether I’m a bit slow this morning but could someone tell me if the person in the bottom picture is the same person as in the top picture, and what relevance is the bottom picture to the ‘story’ between the two pictures? Or is it as simple as some almost anonymous politician happens to have been photographed while out on the piss?

Yesterday she was cynically pretending that 9 years of tory wage repression and in-work benefit cuts have been good for working people. I think you mean relative poverty which is a definition dreamt up by campaigners for poverty to get them a nice little earner, relative poverty is the one where if you dont have a holiday or an xbox they say you are living in poverty, it measured against median income but doesn't take into account things like mortgages etc. Not to say that there obviously isnt people who are not as well off as others but relative poverty really is nonsense.

So you are saying that if you were unfortunate enough to be in a burning building, you would think to yourself "I think I'll stay in here rather than try to get out. It's probably the safest course of action for me"? Common sense should say "get the fuck out as quickly as you can". So he's right, but he's not allowed to 'disrespect' those who very sadly perished in this tragedy in this way.

So he's right, but he's not allowed to 'disrespect' those who very sadly perished in this tragedy in this way. I have the very unfortunate experience of being trapped in a fire in a block of flats in Hulme, Manchester in the early 80s. Not an experience I ever want to go through again. He is not right to say they lacked common sense neither are you.You put your faith and life in to those who you hope know better, its what they are (supposed )to be trained for. Selfishness can have catastrophic consequences in times of great danger.Which happened here in any case. For those who are interested to cut a very long story short I ran a bath got blankets soaked them and then lay down in the water and hoped the fire service would rescue me.They didnt. My friend Glenn who had miraculously come home was screaming for me to use the fire escape (I didnt check as we never used it, as it was either locked smashed or just out of order (Hulme 1982 for you). By pure coincidence it was fixed and cleaned out the day before which I didnt know about and I escaped. But you dont think straight at all.I lost everything (not insured apart from my life.)

Thanks for those quotes from Tom Sutcliffe, the well known authority on the Human Psyche, and, of course, a renowned expert in the best courses of action when faced with almost certain death due to an ongoing disaster. Ah, hang on…… My mistake, It’s actually a BBC theatre critic you are quoting from. He would naturally know more about these types of situation than the rest of us. I bow to your superior terms of reference.

He's actually a social commentator on many things but you stick to your guns, defend the Victorian Ghost and his vile and offensive statements, I mean this and wanting the poor to be 'put down', it's been quite the week for a clear view into the members of the Conservative Party 'human psyche'. Shameful.
