Man City played very very well but only when they were in or around our 18yrd box, their one & two touch, quick and accurate passing was a joy to watch, but that's where our problems were, we stood off and watched them do it. None of our players went with their man, committed cynical fouls to break their play. Our players were in ore of theirs and just stood admiring them.

Sunday supplement Man Utd fans commenting that it was only Stoke that Man City put 7 goals against Panel pointing out that Man Utd couldn’t beat “ only Stoke” and in fact conceded 2 goals Stoke were poor yesterday but there were 4 goals that were unstoppable However they were scored, Man City conceded 2 goals De bruyne outstanding but supported by several world class players so a nightmare for any team , who do you mark? Potential for Man City to be an exceptional team scoring a record number of goals this season Hopefully we’ve learned some lessons, have more players available for Saturday Fair assessment from the journalists imo

Like watching 10 flies buzzing around a vapona strip in random directions with no idea where to go.
Our second goal must have been the quietest ever celebrated.

How can he be judged on this. Win he’s 10 lose he’s 0 Man City a billion £ team that demolished Liverpool 5-0 following it up with an outstanding performance away at the champions. De Bruyne was magnificent and we’ve been thrashed as expected. We won’t be the last team this happens to this season They won't score 7 in a game again this season Predictably boring as usual Well by winning by at least 5 goals against stoke palace Watford and Liverpool you would put money on them doing it again.

2 for giving Edwards his chance
No, I wasn't there, and I have often advocated using Geoff's "legs" in midfield, but yesterday I think MH got it wrong.
With Edwards in the side I would have gone 5 at the back and sacrificed Jese, who is very much a "luxury" player and not one for a game like this.
In Pulis speak yesterday was a "bonus" game so really was a good time to 'blood' young Tom, but not without a bit more protection IMHO.
This is not the thread to debate our summer transfer activity...but our atrocious defending certainly raises questions about it...

Fair comment but the quality of the Citeh onslaught still doesn't explain how the players looked to understand the game plan two weeks ago but then today looked so lost much of the time. I'm NOT pressing the Hughes Out button by any means, just want to get what's going on in his head - and how that does and doesn't communicate to the lads. Sal when we win it takes you hours to start this thread. When we lose it’s like you have typed it at half time waiting to press “post” on the final whistle. Man Citeh made a team (Liverpool) that just thrashed arsenal 4-0 look like complete garbage with a 5-0 win in a week. Stoke are not unique in that. Man City were world class today. No arguing with the world class part, it was a joy to behold but would gave been more of a joy against some other opposition! As for when I start Rate Hughes threads ... if you stalked me a bit more closely, it's simply cos I go to most home games (where we often get to win) and generally come home via mum and dad's, specially when I've had dad with me, whereas I only get to a few aways so can start the thread earlier cos I've been watching ona stream or sometimes just listening to the Nige version.
