If you can honestly bear to. They were majestic, that was sublime football but ffs, to say we were only 5 goals worse is wildly flattering. 2 from me, one each for the goals. * if you were there please

2*
Edwards was the right call, but it shows he only has a mind for a starting 11. Needs to invest in a secondary squad. Get rid of Adam, Ireland and Johnson in January to get in two wingbacks and another playmaker. Sell Wimper and take a hit. Start looking for two RCBs because Ryan is crocked and Zouma is gone soon and move Geoff into midfield permanently and leave Diouf uptop permanently only bringing on Saido or Crouch from the bench. Needs to bring in solid players even if it costs us a championship or emerging RM to cover Shaq is needed. We can’t waste Diouf at RB and Geoff at RB aswell every other week. Shit man management and lack of addressing known issues window after window.

Tricky to judge Hughes on today's performance. From a system point of view I couldn't see what the players were trying to do, that is partly his fault through poor communication or training but also largely the players because he didn't say go out and show a poor performance.
Man city have dished out a few big defeats to teams already at the etihad, so are we just playing on a par? They've also conceded very few goals, with us scoring a lot of the goals they've conceded to date.
This is a game which is likely to make us more defensive against Bournemouth so he needs to manage the team well this week.
My biggest criticism of Hughes today is playing Jese, he clearly isn't ready, either mentally or physically not fit enough, probably because of his family situation. Would be far better with him taking time out.

6. Selection didn't work out at the start. points for starting Edwards and for changing things at the break. 2nd half was much better, their goals actually came from their skill rather than us capitulating.

Defensively it’s a really poor show - how can you rate that result. I couldnt - Vale could not hav3 done worse.

I thought the game plan he talked about didn’t quite work. Allowing them to score 7 and expecting us to score 8 went awry when the ref blew up on 90 minutes rather than 900. So it’s the refs fault and Hughes is blameless so a 7 for me 😬

How can he be judged on this. Win he’s 10 lose he’s 0
Man City a billion £ team that demolished Liverpool 5-0 following it up with an outstanding performance away at the champions.
De Bruyne was magnificent and we’ve been thrashed as expected.
We won’t be the last team this happens to this season

Yes we were totally outclassed but we played like we knew and accepted that from the get go - there is a worrying lack of belief and / or heart in this bunch of players - I hesitate to say team cos they pass it like strangers sometimes - there is something missing and I don't know if this is Hughes fault or the players just not giving a shit??
A generous 3 for me......

I'm NOT pressing the Hughes Out button by any means, just want to get what's going on in his head - and how that does and doesn't communicate to the lads.

Sal when we win it takes you hours to start this thread. When we lose it’s like you have typed it at half time waiting to press “post” on the final whistle. Man Citeh made a team (Liverpool) that just thrashed arsenal 4-0 look like complete garbage with a 5-0 win in a week. Stoke are not unique in that. Man City were world class today.

4.
Didn't have many options with the original selection (I would have started Berahino or Ramadan ahead of Jese) I'd heard that BMI wasn't fully fit which is probably the reason Wimmer started ahead of him.
Individual errors cost us a few and the injury to Edwards really put the tin hat on when we were looking a tiny bit better. Shaq looked injured too but we had no subs left.
We weren't good but it isn't always the manager's fault.
