It's a real shame following England has become like this but it's of the Premier Leagues own making, it's now a European league that happens to be played in England.

I did not even know England had played on Thursday until today. Was a time when I set my clock by every international we played and looked forward to it. It has gone beyond boring, beyond painful, beyond tedious - Its just there. We won, we qualified and we will be predictably shite when the tourney starts.
It is not just England though is it. It is football in general, it is ran by crooks played by crooks and people nobody can relate to. I know if I switch a game on in the upcoming world cup for more than 6 minutes I will see some twat going down like they have been shot or a commentator waxing lyrical about Spain keeping the ball for 30 consecutive minutes without getting out of there own half, some will be drooling over that stat, as will I, but only because I am getting older and cant keep awake. The game is just utterly wrong in every single way, and also an appalling example of how to behave and conduct yourself to youngsters all over the world.
Compare that to the passion and high intensity of watching a rugby union tournament and it does not even compare. I won't miss a minute of any of the British teams in the next ruga world cup and I still don't have a feckin clue what is going on during the game. Yet I will struggle to watch 5 minutes of any footy match - even Stoke.
Record match of the day, fast forward to the potters and that is all I can take of the beautiful game these days.

We have a world class striker in Kane. If we can get the ball to him we'll be in with a chance

We have some good players but the weakest link is southgate,he can't coach the players individually and he can't organise them into a team.
His main concept is I cant coach, but pochettino can, so lets pick lots of spurs players, in the hope that the fitness work and coaching they get at spurs rubs off.
Mmmmm. A tad uninspiring for me that.
I will get lots of abuse on here and every one will say Birmingham city. But I would have given the job to harry redknapp. At least he can organise a coaching session for professional footballers.
Brian clough got forest relegated if you want to be a smart arse, but he was still a good coach.

www.skysports.com/football/news/12016/11072274/why-is-there-england-negativity-sunday-supplement-panel-debate ? Answers: 1. Because we are not good enough, both individually, but more importantly, as a team. Other countries have caught up and in many cases passed us. The present world ranking of 10th (below Wales 9th) is wholly unjustified. We have risen from 15th in 2015 based on results against poor opponents. 2. Because between tournaments we play "easy" matches against poor opposition in qualifying and friendlies, when no one wants to get hurt/injured and is playing for little pride. We used have difficult qualifying and sometimes didn't get through to the tournament. The poorer countries had to play through long qualifying groups to get to the finals. That may seem unfair these days, but it was better for us to play tougher opposition to qualify for the finals. We used to have a home championship when at least Scotland gave a us tough game and a lot of pride was at stake. 3. Consequently we are not ready to play tough matches in the tournaments; ready not just in a physical and technical sense but also lack mental toughness and real determination to play well for the country. Players have been molly-coddled from their youngest days when they first showed they had some talent, given everything they've got too soon and easily, and praised and lorded by the media far too much. Watching them in the tunnel before the last match they looked just like a bunch of posers in front of the world cameras. 4. The whole game in England (and Scotland) is badly managed. The English game has sold its soul to TV revenue. At every level the organizers have made a mess and one scandal after another occurs.
