I have to be honest and say that I found most of his decisions to be completely mysterious. I suspect that both sets of supporters are talking about his performance tonight.

Ref was just plain wierd..the linos were the usual spineless jellyfish born of abused childhoods and probably get beaten by their own wives. To be fair mate believe it or not being an ex what was (conference) division assistant referee back then, the referee tells the linos to basically give fuck all. The linos including myself even if we saw a clear incident if the ref was not down the other end of the field we literally could not get involved. Thats the way it is. But trust me it is frustrating when you see a clear foul and the ref doesn't give it, but you know its foul, and you've probably got a clearer angle of it. Politics and all that bullshit tony, but thats the way it is.

You have to wonder how much conditions affect referees. Keeping fully focused in rain like that must be tough. Not making excuses for what was a crap refereeing performance, but I do wonder. What’s their excuse when it’s not raining? It's not rainy so it was too hot and they had sweaty heads

Shouldn’t moan because Crouch scored seconds after but the tackle on Allen in the box was a definite penalty as GOS just showed.

Shouldn’t moan because Crouch scored seconds after but the tackle on Allen in the box was a definite penalty as GOS just showed. And he was about 3 yards away with a perfect view. And he didn't wave play on either. He and his assistants were dreadful all throughout the game today. The lino on the DPD side should never be allowed in a football stadium again. Ben Stokes got locked up for less of an assualt than Dick van dyke committed on Crouch right in front of him. Gift, I'm not having that bollocks about refs telling linesmen not to interfere. In the same fixture last season the lino definitely advised the ref to send the Austrian Knob Slinger off. Fact . And he was so far behind play at times he couldn't see 3 players standing in an offside position at one point in the first half.

That offside in the first half was one of the worst calls I've seen by a linesman and that takes some doing. Not only was there 3 of them, they were a good 5/6 foot off.

Mate the lino was at least 20 yards behind play. He was atrocious the entire game. The lump on Crouchies forehead will attest to that.

Obviously offsides are yes and totally inexcusable for getting it wrong, however although it may not look it 99% of it they get right. Ever wondered why when its a blatant throw in front of the lino he waits for the ref to signal first? Because the referee says i lead you follow, regardless.

So why did the incompetent tosser put the flag up for a Stoke throw then change his mind and flag the other way when the ref gave the throw to Southampton? The answer is in the 5th and 6th words of my question.

Diouf spent 2 minutes on his arse when just into time added on and then walked off at tortoise speed...no surprises with the added added time How dare you understand the rules, conspiracy theories much better.Beggars belief that some didn't even see the injury/ time wasting.Good on the ref.

It does when the lino was right in the first place (about the only decision he got right all game).
