Arrested under suspicion of causing actual bodily harm at 2:35am on a Sunday night. Very poor indeed.

Alex Hales will also miss the next match as he is helping the police as a witness as he was with him link the problem is some people can make these complaints to get 15 min of fame its better we not comment until we know all the facts

very talented cricketer shame really that they cannot have a night out with a few beers without some numpty trying his luck. i cannot understand why if the lads were having a night out [after a good win[ why dont they hire a couple of minders to keep chancers away and to also stop them from going over the top. no doubt the sun will have it all over the front pages tommorow

If he does end up being charged would that have any impact on him being allowed in Australia for the ashes?

Whether he is charged or not he will certainly be dropped, and to cap it all he suffered a broken finger so even if he does escape punishment he will miss a few games anyway.

That really doesn't look good at all the England squad will be a hell of a lot weaker if he is dropped.

On the basis of that video I'd imagine he's toast as far as the Ashes is concerned isn't he? Could well do some time.

Looking at the things he has been involved in over the years-he does come across as a bit of a knob.

You've let your country down and more importantly yourself down majorly Ben. That's any chance of us winning down there gone down the shitter as well, absolutely no chance. The Aussies will be dancing in the streets after hearing about this.
What is it about Englishmen on the eve of a major sporting event? alcohol, obviously.

Should never be picked for England again This sort of behaviour is slowly dragging the game of cricket into the gutter lying Along with association football that with its look at me look at me overpaid over hyped arseholes that have inhabited the sport for a long while

People deserve 2nd chances and let's put this into perspective, he hasn't killed anyone has he?

Can't see how he can go to Australia now. If the cctv didnt exist then he may have got away with it?(in that he would have just said 2 blokes peed up having drunken brawl). The footage doesn't show him in a good light at all. Is Hales there also? Whatever happens, we are an infinitely far weaker team without Ben Stokes, thats for certain. To say he should never play for England again is a bit harsh, he does need to learn from this, and sharpish.

I think the ECB should strip him of the vice captaincy and they will have to remove him from the ashes squad as well. If the police charge him then he probably won't be allowed to leave the country in any case. I do have some sympathy for sportsmen and celebrities who are easy targets for provocation, especially in these days when there are so many camera's about, but clearly Stokes response was way over the top and he needs to learn a lesson.

You obviously don't see what happened earlier, but he does only seem to get involved when a punch is thrown at one of the fellas he is with...
However, I think he with be dropped for a while, maybe permanently.

Penis Morgan suggesting a homophobic element (not on Stokes part) twitter.com/piersmorganBREAKING: I'm hearing that Ben Stokes intervened to help two gay guys who were being abused by yobs, one of whom was armed with a bottle. 2/ Stokes has told friends he was incensed by the homophobic taunts, then saw the bottle being raised & decided to defend himself. 3) Stokes obviously regrets what happened but apparently his view is: 'They started it, I finished it. I was protecting those guys.' 4/ Police are aware of Stokes' version of events & are now trying to find the two gay men, to corroborate what he's said. 5/ Stokes has told friends: 'The guy had a bottle in his hand & was threatening us, was I supposed to wait until he smashed it in my face?'
