MOTM today by a mile. Gave his all again and a goal Says all you need to know about the lad, gives his all for the team even when criminally played out of position, pity Berahino has not got his work rate and appetite to play for our club.

Diouf vs. Sterling is going to be interesting. He played wide right at The Etihad last season and was excellent

I love Diouf too. He did the work of two players today, compensating for the anonymous Wimmer.

Gave his all again and a goal Says all you need to know about the lad, gives his all for the team even when criminally played out of position, pity Berahino has not got his work rate and appetite to play for our club. Diouf must have the patience of a saint. He was pursued by Hughes for a long time and then ignored for a long time. Then finally Hughes gives him a chance at wing back, a position he'd never played in. So, he worked his butt off to learn how to play there. Is he perfect? No. Does he get caught out? Yes. But he is getting better every week and was MOM for me today. He must know in his heart that he'd be better than Berahino up front, but he just gets on with it. Top class bloke.

His movement for the 1st goal was excellent, and the header even better as the ball was behind him.

He works hard but lets be honest, he's crap and has little to no quality beyond his willingness to work hard. Could and possibly should have had a hat trick yesterday. This from someone who thought Pieters had a good game That comment was from last weeks game. Diouf was great today and arguably our MOM.

Interesting that he had become virtually indefensible to the way we play and can play in at lest three decisions .
after 18 months on the bench either admitting a mistake , or outstanding man management given his horrendous experience , either way credit due to the fantastic player and dues to the management .

I actually think that Diouf playing as a RWB makes better use of his qualities than playing as an out and out striker.
Keep him as RWB.

If his feet were as good as his head he'd be a top quality striker. Unfortunately, they're not. And he wouldn't be at Stoke.... Dioufy ain't too bad even with his limitations, best striker we have (along with Crouch), and a great attitude (again....along with Crouch)!!!

If his feet were as good as his head he'd be a top quality striker. Unfortunately, they're not. I honestly believe his first touch has improved immensely this season. He must have really worked on it over the Summer. Top bloke. You could well be right. I was on more about his finishing. I don't have a problem with his approach at all, just worry a little with him at right mid cos he sleeps on his defensive duties especially with runners

Fantastic again today. Total effort. Wins every header.improving with ball at his feet. Imagine what he could do as a striker. I guess that was said in a tongue-in-cheek manner He scored 11 goals in 34 league matches for us in the 2014/15-season as a striker. How many of our players have surpassed that? He's an extremely versatile player for us with a superb attitude.

I really don't get why over the last 4 years our main tactic hasn't been him up front and putting it on his head. We'd be a much better team for it.

He's getting better every week. Unfortunately, he may be the best striker and the best RWB at our disposal. So, on balance he may be best utilized on the wing because the alternatives are Johnson who's too slow or switching one of the two left sided players (Choupo-Moting or Ramadan), which Hughes doesn't seem to favor.

If I had to chose, on balance, I would leave Diouf on the wing and either persist with Berahino or try Choupo-Moting up front.

Soz KU, it was a poor response from me, but I don't see any 'unfortunately' about Diouf at wing back. He's mint, better than Moses who gets lauded for it. It was Dave Aspilasquirterfor Chelsea today, but Man City did something a bit more unconventional with their wing backs {so I've heard}. Like what Diouf does. {He starter out as a winger and as I've said he can and will score from wb too.} Dunner like it when folk knock Diouf nor Hughes utilization thereof. He's the bomb.
