You can support Stoke at any age but you will have aged years by the final whistle.
Great 3 points but aged more years than I can afford watching it.

Thank fuck for that, just drained the last of the 1845 Well managed in the end but next match make sure you're properly prepared! I normally am mate, when Sainsbury's delivered my shopping yesterday they'd run out. I'll get the order in for Tuesday next week

We've played better and lost 2 of our back line were doubts for today's game, I'd have taken a scrappy 3 points today Save the good football for another day I would rather win ugly than lose pretty.

Much welcome if nervy 3 points.
Dropped far too deep for my liking towards the end.Thank fuck for Zouma..and Crouch !
Benji will be gutted we aren't going into the international break in the bottom 3 !
Oh and the Baggies blew a 2 goal lead..conceding in the 90th minute..so not a bad day really 😁

It's grinding out wins from average performances that won Fergie and Man U so much, winning games when you're not at your best is the difference between top half and bottom half

Whatever the result today now, Hughes needs to go. And that is coming from someone who has always been a fan and said there is no1 better out there. But he has slowly evolved into pulis mk2. We give the opposition 10 yards of space all the time, sit way too deep inviting the pressure and it is inevitable what will happen. I would much rather us press and if they play some slick passing and get round us then well played. But to just sit off and let them play is a joke. And it's all the time! And our lads look like they don't want too score! We never anticipate, there's no movement, we go forward in 1's and 2's, no support, no1 gambles. And it comes from the management. Right on cue 2-1, but I stand by that rant I love how Crouchy scored the winner literally as you were writing this post lol

It's all about pacing yourself, and that's what got us the points today when all's said an done.

Not too clever last nigh or today so this result is just what the doctor ordered. Thought it would be a tough 1-1 but happy to take all 3 points ofc.
Can we just get Crouch some botox in January

Great to get the win but not easy on the eye . Some good individual efforts but we don't look a unit . Still good to play poorly and win .

I'm confident we have enough class in the team to beat the lowest sides like we did last season, but it's today's sort of matches that make the difference between finishing bottom of the middle teams or top of the middle teams.

I thought they outplayed us in large parts, but Hughes got his tactics nearly spot on.
Lemina (spelling) dominated us. Very impressed with him. Shame we didn't get the dong out to persuade him.
Hughes set up to let them pass it around the back, they're a very frustrating attacking force. Trying to walk the ball into the net. They looked dangerous throughout though and put us under some very heavy pressure towards the end.
I think what made it tough for us was Saido missing the penalty and Choupo having a western supa today. He was terrible!
I tip my hat to Mame Diouf though. The bloke is a real life Cafu! Fan fucking tastic.
Pieters was yet again very very poor.
Wimmer looks like he's lost at sea, I'm hoping he's not fully fit and lacking confidence or something! Cause if that's what we've got, we're in trouble! 18 million, Spurs have had our pants down .
Anyway... Fantastic 3 points and we should take them with both fucking hands cause they'll be games this season where we'll play teams off the park and get the same outcome Southampton got today

Hughes hasn't got a hucking clue! Why do we just defend so deep once we take the lead? We are far better going forward and to be honest Soton were not dangerouse in my opinion? All it dfoes is bring pressure onto us by defending so deep. We should have pressed harder and closed them down instead of inviting them to attack us!

Some perspective from a Saints fan: Anyway fair play to Stoke, can’t begrudge them their win, they were better all around and managed the game well for the most part. Imagine the day when a former player of your own and your, er, rivals scores against you but you don’t hate him for it. Fuck sake, I need to find drinks and consume them at a fast pace and high volume. www.theguardian.com/football/2017/sep/30/stoke-city-southampton-premier-league-match-report

A win that we badly needed, but still some serious issues to address in terms of a striker who looks like scoring (other than Crouchy) and ball retention to take the heat out of a game. Saints will feel hard done to with all the possession and chances they had, but we have had those days too, so let's just enjoy the 3 points. Chances they had? Must have missed them. For all there possesion they didnt do much with it. Thought Forster wad the busier keeper

Huge three points , some good character to win and it after been pegged back , lot lacking in game management ,and it's no wonder we concede late at home as we seem to just sit in , but this was the best and most significant result of the season for me .
