news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/cardiff_city/7407805.stmCardiff chase Man Utd goalkeeper Tom Heaton Heaton could put pressure on Peter Enckelman for a starting spot Cardiff hope to recruit Manchester United reserve goalkeeper Tom Heaton on a season-long loan deal. First-choice keeper Peter Enckelman has been widely criticised for Kanu's goal, which lead to Cardiff's 1-0 FA Cup final loss to Portsmouth on Saturday. But the Finn, on-loan from Blackburn Rovers, has also been offered a permanent contract by the Bluebirds. Chairman Peter Ridsdale has said he will make cash available as the club chase Premiership football in 2009/10. Heaton has played in the reserves for Manchester United, but has yet to make the first team. A noted shot-stopper, the 22-year-old has had loan spells with Swindon and Royal Antwerp.

First-choice keeper Peter Enckelman has been widely criticised for Kanu's goal, which lead to Cardiff's 1-0 FA Cup final loss to Portsmouth on Saturday. Just on a note of this it was an appalling goal keeping error - if you can get 2 hands to the ball to push it away then you can catch it. He should of held it no two ways about it. But then again I am very pleased he didn't hold it so the taffs didn't get a chance to be allowed into Europe.
