I have been quite critical over Mark Hughes and co over the last 4-5 months mainly for the shite served up over the previous 18 month period with our 4 goal drubbings and our ineffective, stale, laborious style of sideways football, but……. I vowed not to judge the team one way or another until we had played 10 games of the new season, I feel that this is a fair point to give me an overall view of the changes to personnel and to his tactics, in all fairness with the shite served up by the league fixture computer I honestly thought that the ten game mark may be a little bit too soon to make that call and may even be a bit harsh to judge MH and co with the fixtures played, but, it has not been so bad so far, to be fair I am just glad we got this fixture run at the start of the season rather than at the arse end of the season especially if we may have needed points for safety. So without going back on my self-imposed vow I am not going to make any predictions where we may be going over the season victorious or otherwise, I am not going to judge the tactics or the players performances until they have had time to Gel and will at this point hopefully all be match fit, what I will say though is how the season so far has surprised me with how it is going, I honestly thought that after studying the fixture list before the season KO that yesterday may be our only hope of the first point of the season…how wrong could I be, I genuinely thought that due to the fixture list we would be rooted to the base of the league with only the one point against the deluded Geordies to show for our campaign, I never expected to pick up any points against the sides that we have played and we would be going in to the match at Newcastle with 10 men behind the ball to grind out our first point to lift us from the basement position…. again wrong on both counts.
So without being critical of performances so far and seeing how wrong I was with my predictions how do you see the next 5 games going as far as what you perceive our results will be now and where you saw them when looking at the fixtures as they came out, here is my list
H - Chelsea before the season KO – LOSS, …..Chelsea now season is under way a DRAW H - Southampton before the season KO – WIN, ….. Southampton now season is under way a WIN A - Man City before the season KO – LOSS-4-0, …..Man City now season is under way a LOSS- but a respectable 2-0 H - Bournemouth before the season KO – WIN… Bournemouth now season is under way a WIN A - Watford before the season KO – DRAW…Watford now season is under way a DRAW

Man City seem scarily good right now. Let's hope they lose some momentum over the next few weeks.

Good OP, but personally I gave up predicting football results in the 1970s when I used to spend hours on Wednesday night working pools coupons. After many years I eventually gave up, having decided it was impossible despite what Horace Batchelor said!
One good "result" for us this weekend is, though we lost, we have only dropped 1 point against most opposing teams and the goal difference/scored is respectable.

The way we're playing we'll beat Man City and lost to Bournemouth Last season Stoke were pretty predictable. Get thrashed by higher teams, win or draw against lower teams. This season the team has been very unpredictable. I can actually see your scenario happening.

My problem is that we never seem to dictate games. We can scrap for results like Manure and Arsenal and fair dos do well but we don't seem to dictate play. Newcastle is a perfect example. its back foot football against a rival. We never seem to get in the groove against anyone.

I'm fairly happy with how we've started the season, but we really have to start controlling games against some of the "lesser" sides. I'm not expecting everything to click immediately given the pretty drastic changes in personnel, but once we start to settle, I would like to see us to start showing some improvement in that sense.
