The flares aren't too clever but to be fair nothing's really kicked off (yet) has it? Aren't they just buoyant and boisterous like we were in Valencia? I've seen footage of trouble outside the ground. Fighting between fans and stewards. Flares being let off. Yeah, basically the same. Seems like a few scuffles mostly based on whether the fans were going to be let in the ground (an issue we didn't have at all) to me. Nothing's gone off in the ground since the game began, and they're everywhere in the home ends

Yes, why not. Just join in and sample a rare and unique atmosphere. I take my 4 and 9 year old home and away so if they were with me, we'd just enjoy the terrific atmosphere. And when you're little boy takes a flare to the face, you just laugh it off and continue to soak up the "atmosphere".... Has someone been hit in the face by a flair?

And he's getting hammered for it. Koln are apparently a left wing club and in the pic there are no nazi salutes! Is the Mirror still edited by Piers? Typical left wing antics shameful hope they don't lose they will be campaigning for a re run after throwing their dummy's out and vandalising and rioting of course.

Is this the second time this season that German fans have just come for aggro when playing in England? They haven't come for agro, they've come to see their team in Europe for the first time in 25 years...

They haven't come for agro, they've come to see their team in Europe for the first time in 25 years... So why were they fighting with stewards inside the ground? They can do both. 20,000 of them can come to see their team and there can be violence.

They haven't come for agro, they've come to see their team in Europe for the first time in 25 years... So why were they fighting with stewards inside the ground? To get in to watch their team. Maybe not the best way to behave but I'm yet to see a single report of any trouble between the two sets of fans. Edit: sorry I thought you meant the trouble outside the ground, the only reports of scuffles with stewards were Koln fans trying to get into the away end. Again I don't condone it but they aren't just randomly causing trouble.

Is it just me or was this really avoidable? Obvious that Arsenal fans would give this game a miss. If they had allocated a whole stand to Koln then the whole thing could be managed properly.

Customs will have had a busy time with them all...though probably not, they let everybody through! On what grounds would Customs (actually immigration staff) stop them coming in? Has anyone stopped the Brits going to games in Germany recently? Did anyone stop Stokies going to Istanbul or Valencia when we were in the Europa League?

I used to know a man who was a singer at the Cologne opera house. Lovely man. After a few drinks he'd sing and it was brilliant and scary. The room used to shake.

Frightening isnt it whyDelilah Are you sure you will be OK taking your 7 year old nephew to the Chelsea game? You are aware that fellow supporters stand up and swear quite a lot regardless of whether there is a youngster nearby aren't you?

They seemed to be relatively well behaved given the circumstances. A few minor scuffles with the stewards, mainly outside the ground, but once inside they just generally took the piss and had a bit of a laugh. They weren't kicking off with the Gooners, weren't smashing shit up outside and it didn't get ugly when Arsenal won the game.
I'm pretty sure it will go down as the stuff of legend amongst their fans for years to come, and rightly so. It's the best thing I've seen in a good few years in terms of the sheer fucking cheek of it. Fair play to them.

An English football crowd unsettled by thousands of foreigners drinking all day in 'their' city. The irony is severely ironic.
