Pickford and Butland are both miles above Hart - and I think on current form they may both actually be better than Hart has ever been in his career. For me, Butland's clear leadership qualities should make him England's #1 - But I think Pickford is a lot closer to him than most on this board want to admit. De Gea is better than both - though Jack is closing the gap. I might even put Heaton above Hart. Heaton is criminally underrated. When (not if) Butland goes, Heaton would be my first target.

He is definitely as good de gea now I wish I could agree with you on this one, De Gea just looks like the finished masterpiece of a goalkeeper to me though, and it pains me to say that about a scum player. Jack will eventually be there or there abouts though I think

His clean sheet stats are never going to look great unless we tighten things up considerably!

I hope no England manager attaches any importance to how many corners he concedes. Our manager certainly doesn't seem to. Jack must be so frustrated at how we defend set pieces.

Easily exploited by pace, susceptible to a ball over the top, enormous gaps where the right back should be. Ok we haven't shipped as many as this time last season but the warning signs are there. I really don't think defence is a strength of the management team.

We look more like a unit, we're hungrier and better at tracking runners, we're more imposing physically. It's not perfect, as yesterday showed, but it's better.

I have a belief that defence is as much about organisation as it is about individual ability and we still seem to fly by the seat of our pants too much.

Need to work on corners at both ends but particularly defending them. Newcastle found a weakness that other teams will exploit again and again if we don't tighten up.
Either go back to man to man marking now that wrestling is allowed in the area again or learn how to do Zonal

Sky report on Jacktoday which could be taken various ways Talks of ambition and that Stoke fans 'would understand' January window?? I can see this materialising this season if we dont start raising our profile more. He clearly wants that Number 1 jersey in the World Cup and he deserves it BUT has seen: 1) Joe Hart retaining the position despite looking past it 2) Jordan Pickford moving to Everton for big money and suddenly he is being talked about as next in line Despite his brilliant start to the season including some world class saves, Stoke just isnt high-profile enough it seems. Southgate was a big Butland fan but he doesnt seem closer to being Englands number 1. Lets say for example Butland made a move to Liverpool or Man City in January. We all know that he would miraculously become England's number 1 overnight despite being the same player. BIG CLUB bias by England Managers is nothing new

Sky report on Jacktoday which could be taken various ways Talks of ambition and that Stoke fans 'would understand' January window?? It's fairly obvious that he will inevitably take the big carrot from a big club, and who can blame him, but I doubt it will be January, unless he gets the No 1 Jersey immediately, especially with The World Cup looming, I think see out the season with Stoke, join the England squad in Russia, then almost certainly go in the Summer, and good luck to the lad and thanks for your service.

The timing of January would be in Jack's interest because he would automatically become Englands keeper for the World Cup. It all depends on Liverpool/Man City etc of course and whether they want a new keeper mid-season. Keepers only tend to move during the summer unless there is a club crisis.

Actually I think he is still a bit off his best handling wise . But it's clear cut he is off to man utd in the summer he just needs to stop mentioning it every 4 weeks as it gets a bit wearing

Seems hesitant on crosses and coming off his line which are areas only games will improve. Thought he might have come for the first goal on Sat.

After tomorrow we will either be certainties for the crappy cup or relegation
