If they didn’t charge full RRP on everything more people would use them.
Most things in there are cheaper from the supermarkets and Argos.

They didn't make the switch to digital quickly enough.
I went into the one in Manchester with other bags of shopping and they asked me to leave them at the counter before I went in, I walked out. It's closed down now, that'll teach em

True that, you have a serious problem if things are cheaper at Argos. I can't understand how Maplin are still in business for the same reason, the prices they charge are fucking insane. Only the other day the store in Stoke tried to charge me £24 for a 1m A-Male to Mini-B USB cable. Told the cunts to stick it and ordered one from Amazon for a fiver, and that one was 1.8m too.

Amazon are the main reason imo because you can get exactly what you want, cheaper and within a few days. If you don't like it or it's faulty the return process is very easy.

Unbelievable that a mega multi million pound company can so suddenly go down.
Is This mismanagement or a sign of things to come ?
Am I partly guilty ? If I want to buy something I google or Amazon it.

They have just introduced some Xmas scheme of paying a 20% deposit on all items bought in-store, then pay balance interest free 3xmonthly instalments. Assuming they are trying to get some cash into the business pretty damn quick???

What probably didn't help was my son growing up and my ex stopping spending in the place.

Maplin, like PCWorld to a lesser extent, rely upon people without a clue, going in there and taking 'advice' from them. Like you say, HDMI leads for £50, absolutely ludicrous, but someone must be buying it.
