Selling SJW is almost (but not quite) on the same scale as selling Sir Stan in 46/47.
Yes when we sold John there were grown men weeping openly in the streets and rending their garments, but as far as I know, there were no public demonstrations and emergency meetings in the Kings Hall Stoke. We were also closer to challenging for the title in that season.
There had also just been a word war - apart from that, yes -close parallels
