I noticed this story also - don't know who she is (Russel Brand's sister-in-law apparently) but seems to live near Windsor so probably a posho. It does however give the opportunity to see how balanced the media response and popular opinion is over similar incidents. Does the reaction differ due to their genders, their class of origin, their supposed parental responsibility, the moral gradient between cheating on a spouse or collecting the kids from a party? It sounds like she was far more over the line than Wazza but do we let the fact that Rooney played for Man U sway our judgement? Are they equally culpable in the eyes of the law and the spleens of the accussers? She was done the morning after.

She is golfer Bernard Gallaghers daughter and was driving the day after drinking but not on the same day which just shows how long alcohol stays in the blood. How many lorry/bus/vandrivers etc.are in this state every day?

Tbf, don't most people drive the day after they've had a few drinks? Think she's unlucky tbh, nothing to do with the fact I would love to penetrate her though.

To be more than 3 times over the limit at 11am the next morning is pretty good going. Maybe a late night. I'm sure we've all unwittingly done it the morning after a session, you're supposed to wait 15 hours before you drive after 5 pints. If you finish you're last pint at midnight you won't be under the limit till 3pm the following day. scary.

Depending on what time she went to bed, my bet is you missed your chance the night before her arrest - she must of been paralytic!

Thought it was 8hrs for grog to get through the system... She caught a taxi home and thought she was ok at 11 the next day. No excuse it’s still DUI but wrongly it never has quite the same stigma as being caught pissed up in the middle of the night I think the problem is that most people simply don't realise how long it takes alcohol to clear the system after a heavy night's drinking. Obviously, because the law has to take account of the amount of alcohol in the system at the time of arrest, there can't be any sort of case for "going easy" on someone for morning after drinking and driving. But there should be much more publicity for the time it takes to be safe after drinking. The slogan "don't drink and drive" is pretty well implanted in us all (even if not everyone obeys it) but the concept of being over the limit 12 or 15 hours after stopping drinking needs to be much better known than it is, Accurate home multi use breathalyzers are now widely available for £40 ish from Amazon and other outlets and I think anyone who habitually has a skinful from time to time would be well advised to get one and use it.

Piers Morgan said this morning he felt sorry for Kirsty Gallacher and I suspect their are quite a few others who feel the same. However to me her "thought she was ok to drive" story doesnt ring true to me. A witness/witnesses reported her driving eratically to the police and they felt it was so serious that they tracked her car using street cameras and found her. That to me seems like the police made quite a big effort to go and find her considering they probably get numerous amounts of calls each day about people driving erratically on the roads which they do nothing about which in turn suggests she must of been all over the road in which case she must of known she wasnt fit to drive.

By rights the prosecution should have been able to bring the fact that Piers Morgan feels sorry for her to the attention of the court. I can't think of anything which more clearly points to her guilt!

There is no definitive answer it depends on body mass and metabolic rate more than 5 pints equals 8 hours sleep before driving

To be pedantic she was three times the limit She was 106 the limit is 35

Had a bird in the car too , it gets better and better . Below 60 as well Apparently she was 29. That means she must have given birth at around 14 1/2, and her child muct have had a child at around 14 1/2.

You fat bastard, you fat bastard............... You don't like him do you? I don't dislike him but any player who doesn't play for Stoke is fair game. In Rooney's case his Granny fetish makes him an absolute gift when it comes to banter

Banned for 2 yearsThe 31-year-old was banned from driving for two years and ordered to perform 100 hours of unpaid work as part of a 12-month community order. Rooney was also ordered to pay £170 when he appeared at Stockport Magistrates' Court. "I have already said sorry to my family, my manager and chairman and everyone at Everton FC. Now I want to apologise to all the fans and everyone else who has followed and supported me throughout my career.Good, leaves me out of his apology. Wonder who wrote that for him?

Rooney's legal team had asked District Judge John Temperley to consider not imposing a community order because of his ongoing charitable work.
However the judge said he was "not convinced" that imposing a large fine "would have the same effect".

He could have faced an unlimited fine which is usually commensurate with earnings. Probably pointless though hence the two year ban and not one year.

Plus his 2 year driving ban a 12 month community order and 100 hours community service for drink driving. I wonder who will get the cash? it should go to a good cause. Gouranga.
