Ballon dor winner fetch now Blackpool paid £11,500 which, in today's terms, is £425,000 - bargain of the century? - or a sign that the football world today has gone barmy? What would he fetch today? Not sure that his skills and playing style would fit with modern coaches - he rarely checked back to help the defence!! |

Did he track back enough 🤔 No good in the air!! Seriously, he would have not left us for Blackpool in the modern era. Would he have even joined us a youngster? If he had, would he have been snapped up by one of the big vultures before he had even made his debut? I suspect he would have left one of the Manchester big boys for a Spanish behemoth for around £250M in his early 20s. Of course, he would still rejoin us in his late 40s to lead us to glory. |
