Add him to the scrapheap of potentially promising young English footballers who never quite made it because they chased cash rather than wanting to play football week in week out. No doubt will still be picked for England. Bench player for Arse/Chelsea at best. Would have been better off at a mid table club or even going abroad (English players need to improve on this) to really showcase his talents and to work out his best position. I'm not convinced he knows his best position yet! It's a real shame and a waste of talent frankly, but such is football these days. Didn't he turn down the cash at Arsenal for that exact reason? Possibly, although I can't imagine they'll be too much in it cashwise surely? If he's been promised regular first team starts at Chelsea then fair enough, we'll have to see. Although I can't see it personally, I really hope he does go on to fulfill his potential, can only be good for England!

Wouldn't want him anywhere near a Stoke shirt. A completely overrated English player from the same "can run fast and kick a ball" mould as Wheelchair and Wallsnott. I thought he was Arsenal's best player in the first half against us last week. Looked very dangerous and he's way more creative than Walcott. His influence faded in the second half when Wenger rejigged the formation and personnel. Just my anti-arsehole sentiment coming to the fore LP. Anything and anybody linked to that despicable nest of cunts deserves nothing but shit and derision. Sorry it's how it is, at least with me.

Worth making an exception for the son of one of our best post war players, I would have thought. And, you'd better hope we don't sign Gibbs - even though he would suit us down to the ground!

Unfortunately, he made some poor career decisions when he left Southampton. It was foolish to go to Arsenal.

Don't blame him leaving Arsenal one bit, at least he's got the balls to go. Pity it's Chelsea, he'd be a killer signing for a mid table club.

I was deluded enough to think we had a chance of getting him in. The starry eyed son of chambo stuff. If I was a mega rich footballer who has been in the shade I would want to become a hero, for the love of the game. Maybe he has the belief he can nail down a position at Chelsea. I sure know he would have become an absolute star here though!

Staying at Arsenal or moving elsewhere? Can't be many teams able or willing to shell out 40m.

I don't see him playing centre midfield at a top club, he's basically a winger?

Hes not a winger and not a central midfielder and hes not ''The Ox''. Don;t know what he is or what people see in him to be honest. He clearly sees himself as a midfield magician which he will never be.

Thought he'd always looked good at wing back but ponderous and wasteful as a central midfielder. Like Walcott, he seems to be badly advised.

Looks like Arsenal could be losing both him and Sanchez for nothing next summer, that's gotta hurt!
It seems completely insane to me that clubs are willing to pay £40m+ this summer than wait and take them on a free next time around

Fair play to him. Moving to Chelsea would've left him in the exact some position he's at with Arsenal in regards to playing time. I've said from the beginning of all this talk Liverpool would be the best place for him potentially with the way they play. Lemar isn't leaving Monaco so I can see them going for him now as well.

Should however, won't happen.

It seems Klopp is going to convert into 3-4-3 too, cause he has many defensive problems in addition to that he doesnt have a play-maker in case coutinho will leave, so Chamb as RWB Moreno as LWB below 3 front players Mane - Firminho - Salah.
May be ..
