Chris Greenacre. Thanks Newcastle Town for that Obviously not the best start but playing a poacher on the wing isn't the best plan either is it?

Michael Owen. Shame, I thought there was a good footballer in the lad.
Same as that Eidur Gudjohnsen kiddie.

I'd really like to see someone from the youth set up come through and make a big impact in the first team.

Anyone remember that Darren Boughey lad. He was supposed to have a big future. Went on the booze or summat, didn't he?

Kris Commons could have been a star for us and was tearing defences apart until he got seriously injured assisting a goal vs Norwich. After that, injuries, general fitness and a poor attitude did for him and he never made it past Championship/SPL level. I was watching training a lot the summer he broke through and could see he was working really hard, for example staying behind with Karl Henry* for an hour when everyone else had gone, just to float ball-after-ball on to the cross bar from 40-50 yards. Not sure what happened really; maybe he's just a poor man's Charlie Adam, and no-one wants to be that.
*Also wanted Karl to do well because of the incessant hammering he seemed to take on here for actually trying to pass the ball and be patient. Just about made it to the Premier League eventually but I thought we should have stuck with him longer than we did. Had no chance in a Pulis team though.

Paul Randall Seemed to be the missing piece in the jigsaw. Gliding across the Victoria Ground mud like a perfect picture of control, acceleration and balance. Twas exciting. What happened? Honestly cannot remember. Paul Randall will always be my all time Stoke player-that goal against West Ham will live long in my memory.

Super Dave Rowson
My family are from Aberdeen so I use to go to their games when visiting. When we signed him told all my mates he would be an amazing signing and was loads better than our league.
And then Wigan away happened.
I generally keep my opinions on signings to myself now.

I wanted johnny eustace to remain injury free and get an England call up
There was no way he flopped but if it wasn't for injury, I think he would have gone on to play at the highest level

Bangoura, without a doubt. As a footballer it could be argued he didn't fail, as a human being........... shit guy! Always remember a Sentinel article when he first joined saying he preferred basketball, struck alarm bells! Paul Randall was the start of a conveyor belt of players, 23 years long, we wished would come good!

Cameron for geographic reasons. Being American but with family in Stone and growing up on Stoke City/Vale, I was doubtful that an American would survive in the EPL. And here he still is after several years.....very fair comments on his performance on this site.

Sobhi, Bojan and Campbell currently. Previously, Van Ginkel, Guidetti and Knightly but all seemed to miss their stride here and hoped they'd turn it around but got doing well enough elsewhere.

Never a doubt, he came from Houston, Texas and they toughened up that Yankee Massachusetts boy before he even crossed the pond. He's made a lot on here eat humble pie over the years and he's still is going strong. More could learn from his loyalty and professionalism.
