But we would usually always beat Big Sam's teams and Arsenal would usually try to adapt to us by playing some of their big lads, which never worked out for them. Shush you. I haven't done any actual research, it just winds me up beyond belief that the usual suspects who were conspicuous by their absence last weekend are out in force tonight, decrying the tactics, the players, the manager etc etc etc blah blah blah. Time I worked out how to use the block function... Just get back to making Back from the Velodrome Volume 2 you lazy bastard.

Peter Crouch is one of the best strikers in the history of the premiere league. Fact. We are lucky to have him on our books

Was in a bar in Ibiza watching the match today with my sister in law, she loves crouch and was so disappointed he was on the bench, he always comes off the bench to save us when I'm with my sister in law and after going 1-0 down she said "don't worry, crouch will save us", and he bloody did lol. Priceless

Clearly he is our best striker for goal scoring. He provides and scores. You can't play him in games where we have no ball as he is too slow to do anything dangerous when standing on halfway all game. However in most home games and away games vs teams outside the top 6 he is a must. Every year we need to avoid getting relegated first stay in the cups, and evaluate where we are on Jan 1, thus we cannot ever play players 'for the future' not do we even need to as we have loads of cash not to need to do that anyway. All that means Crouch is the man.

Not a striker. Nice touch but not physical and nothing in the air. An above average wide player Don't you think its a bit daft to start a thread defending a player after people criticise him, to then go on and criticise another player in said thread? I thought Choupo was ok up top, yes I agree he isn't a natural striker. Not physical though? I thought no one could get the ball off him all afternoon. He seems very strong to me except when he's collapsing trying to win penalties/free kicks. He needs to get on with it. Otherwise he was okay today.

Enjoyed the win like eveybody else Can't really fault Hughes he said he would concentrate of defence and the changes he's made are very effective we are much more sound and solid. Buying selecting and handling his strikers he still doesn't seem to have a clue my opinions on that are very consistent. Until that changes we'll be stuck with a team that doesn't score many goals Crouch is not the answer.

He became flimsier when being challenged in certain areas of the pitch I recall!

He's played for Stoke for a number of years and in each of those years we have been a low scoring team. Thats why he's not the answer it will not suddenly change.

One of the best strikers to ever play in the Premier League
I would play him from the start more often
I don't care how old he is, who is on the bench. I want my team to score goals and win points

Yes I am rational your rationale that being young equates to having a somehow less worthy opinion sort of reinforces my experience, I've met plenty of old fuckwits and the most irritating aspect is they always think they're right and always try to rubbish contrasting opinion with irrational put downs rather than compelling evidence.
