Anyone remember "the dying fly". I remember a load of Stokies doing it on a zebra crossing in Blackpool. It brought traffic to a standstill. Gridlock.
One thing about Stokies is that we have a great sense of humour.
I think the dying fly came from TISWAS.

Sally James - I fancied her like hell. Sadly I never managed to fulfill my ambition to spend a Saturday morning in The Cage. Sally James´ legendary interviews and gratuitous cleavage were just two of the reasons why TISWAS was the greatest TV start to the weekend ever. Rolling in the aisles after a goal against Arsenal is likewise one of the best ways to spend Saturday evening- i envy the gentlemen involved.

Sally James - I fancied her like hell. You and pretty much every other straight male and gay female I would imagine. I was also a fan of Spit the Dog. Not to mention Cough the Cat. Sally was a bit of a hit with the Navy, and (as I recall) once raised her hem to show a thigh ringed with half a dozen garters sent to her by sailors on HMS this, that and the other. How they got away with that at 10.30 am I am not sure. The dying fly was popular at away games at that time. I remember it at Bristol Rovers for example. Gridlock, as someone has mentioned. That was when an awayday really was an awayday. Great photo at the top btw.

What was the footage of the lad losing balance trying to head the ball on the stairs and going over the railings?

Goodbye Arnie. We have a new star, for a short while at least. Click the youtube link I think arnie leaving as saved hughes. He's been able to bring Jese in, who is so much more direct from that video you can see, and he was doing a lot of similar stuff at the weekend knocking the ball past a defender and chasing. When was the last time we had someone do that consistently? Pennant & ethers? Arnie used to do it and that all but stopped. Makes you think if arnie became a player hughes didn't want to an extent as he didn't fit his vision. But When Jese comes up against some of the lesser lights he is literally going to be running the show.
