The amount of times I had take a second look because I thought we had Walters on the pitch again...I like it
Hughes has done well to find him, he is most definitely a like for like swap but and upgrade

His chest control 2nd half was fantasy football, shame a goal didn't come from it.

He looks like a better Walters. Jese and the others will rightly be praised, but I really like the look of Choupo. He's a handful.

Excellent but should have scored after Jesés subliminal piece of magic

Not a bad start and some promising signs, but to be honest I thought he was a little off the pace today, first game in a new league though so let's give him time to settle in.

Have to say I thought he was pretty poor playing the lone front role (didn't hold ball up well) but got better and better playing on the right. Shaq to feed him and Jese with a top notch striker and were away.

Excellent but should have scored after Jesés subliminal piece of magic Do you mean sublime, or was it delivered via the medium of a Coca Cola advert played backwards on the new big screen?

If they can just find us a 15 goal striker before the window closes I could almost start to feel optimistic🤔

He's a much better footballer than Walters.

Loved that one he brought down on his chest from a high ball second half.

We're going to have so much fun with this one. I don't know where to start.
Unorthodox Naturally gifted Languid yet hard working Always seems to have a smile on his face Black boots Versatile
One word for the manager though. He isn't a number 9.

I've taken an instant liking to him.
Thought he was excellent, considering he had no pre-season behind him and off the back of just the little cameo last week.

I thought he was great considering he hasn't had much of a pre season.
Worked his socks off and was probably the only one who managed to buy us a coupl of seconds breather at times in that second half.
Thought he was a good outlet too & won his fair share of flick ons. Definitely a positive.

Replace Walters? Nah this blokes looks an replace for Arnie. Pace, power, trickery and a bucket load of arrogance. If he can score goals he's going to be absolute gem of a find

I thought he looked better the minute shaq went off and he moved out wide. It seems to be a poisoned chalice being the lone striker in our side at the minute

He's a beast. Once he's fit I can see him being one of the shrewdest Premier League signings of the season.....

Most balls - there weren't that many - in his direction were instantly lost. After the rotation he looked much more comfortable as rightsided midfielder.

He barely touched the ball as a striker and when he did he lost it. Much better on the wing, encouraging.

There's always one but I thought he was poor. Exactly like Walters but not as fit. Even chucked in missing a sitter ala Super Jon.
Hopefully he will improve if he gets fit.

I have to say that for the most part, I agree. Worked very hard in fairness (especially second half). His miss in injury time is testament to the fact that he ran himself into the ground for the cause to even be there. First half in particular, however, thought he was nothing to write home about.

He seems very gifted with technical ability. It is exciting with Him, Berahino and Jese up top. Get some wingbacks in and we'll be laughing.

Funny how people see things. His style reminded me of Ric at times how he flicks the ball past the player then chases it. I live in hope that he scores like Ric.
Certainly looked more at home on the wing though.
