I have much joy that the moaning might abate, at least the Wolfy stuff. You're trying to deprive me of a fond farewell. He will always be remembered alongside such illuminaries as Collins and Wilson as a shit defender who played way too often. He hasn't left yet mind, so let's not get too happy too soon. P45 W20 D9 L16 in the Premier League with Big Phil at the helm. Europa League form, you cannot rewrite history as much as you will bore the pants of us trying to do so. You will not cloud the memories of the German maestro, never ever.....

And we've finished close to Everton, they're still a much bigger club than us. I have no idea where you pulled Toulouse from. Metz have won more silverware in past years. They're about the same size as Metz, and that's being generous. I've always seen them as a reasonably sized club. No idea why. Seemed to be in Europe quite regularly? I may have made that up or they were when I were a lad......maybe 😂

But he was a decent defender in a decent team during a decent season/18 months when we finished 9th. Not sure how anyone can really argue against that to be fair....

These persistent negative comments on players does the club no favours in their efforts to move them on. Do you not imagine that prospective buyers visit this site and other social media as part of their research. And the next person who uses the phrase 'I'll drive him there myself' should be driven off a cliff.

Certainly not the pile of shit people make him out to be. Decent enough defender, we have just moved on. It was always going to be a thankless to follow High, and comparisons were inevitably drawn, rather unfairly. Good in his own right, most were just blinded by their love of Huth and expected Wollscheid to come in and be a Huth 2.0. Cheap fee as well when he signed, so he certainly hasn't flopped as most would have you believe.

Plus we had a significant portion of what we signed him for back from Wolfsburg for his loan last season. He owes us nothing.

Think he gets too much stick for his efforts, personally think he's a good defender although he can be a little frustrating at times (and he runs a bit special). Always seem like a nice bloke with the fans and has acted maturely when out of the squad. Hasn't thrown his toys out of the pram after a move like somebody else did, so good luck Wolly! Says everything about his character that when out of favour at Wolfsburg he asked to drop to the second team to play regular football in the German 4th tier. Clearly cares too, didn't he start tearing up when he made a mistake in the relegation playoff that he thought would cost Wolfsburg. Fair play to the lad.

Apart from Mark Hughes of course, but Wolfy was much better at playing the ball out from the back , that went well we swopped Wolfy for a player who went on to win the PL title.

Are you intent on sucking the last drops of joy out of everything Stoke? What's the transfer fee? undersold him? Have we inserted a sell on clause? Shit negotiating. Make me laugh. You have no joy in Wolly leaving? It's a joyous turn of events. How is it joyous? He still deserves our respect for his time at this club, even if he wasn't the best at times. I would only celebrate a player leaving if they submitted a transfer request (Arnautovic), were known to be disruptive and spoke out of turn (Wilson, Bony) or if they never tried for us (Bony). Can't you just keep a little bit of dignity by thanking him without a cheap, pathetic dig?

Another debate
its simple this - really simple - probably a nice lad
can play football a bit
but far too slow to be a defender in our premier league
thats it ! - no more needed

Massively underrated.

What about fighting with your team mates rate on the misdemeanour chart? "Fighting" You must have led a sheltered life mate..... Well it was enough for well known lunatic Mark Hughes to fuck him out of the picture pretty quickly. I'm not talking about his often frankly absurd on pitch activities but also off it. Wollscheid's main problem is that he's not fucking wired up right.

He should have just walked off the pitch smiling and not giving a shit. Would have left with everyone's best wishes then. The over exaggeration of some of these incidents involving Wollscheid has become laughable. I refer you to our record with him in the team, they are the facts and they make decent reading. He cost us very little in the grand scheme of things and he leaves not owing us anything. That'll do for me...,,

Seemed a decent footballer, but with those jazz hands just didn't look like a solid centre half.
As a centre forward surely given the choice you would rather face Wolly than say AD Faye, Huth, Shawcross. Sometimes the perception outweighs the reality.

The FM linked sentinel article makes it clear that he wasn't in Hughes thoughts in even his top five centre halves. Maybe his ability after all was always the bigger issue. It seems that right now, Mark (and his team) would trust me at centre half over lovable, (not mental in the slightest), Wolly.
