There's fair criticism and there's bollocks. That's bollocks. in your opinion, and just like you, im entitled to one too ..... he was wank Absolutely - of course you're entitled to an opinion. However that opinion dismisses a professional athlete as "wank" with nothing at all to back it up and is on this thread for no other reason than to pour piss on the guy's departure from the club. When you consider that player was a stalwart in an injury ravaged shapeshifting defence that got us to a 9th place Premier League finish and in the same season got us to a major semi-final - on the way completing via a clean sheet the only victory at Anfield in living memory then I actually think that far from just shouting "gash" and "wank" from the back of the classroom Stoke fans ought to be a lot more grateful to the guy than many seem to be able to bring themselves to be. It's for those reasons I say you're talking bollocks. But that's just my opinion.

We were desperate to get rid, Metz couldn't afford a fee AND his wages, so we compromised and gave him a free to get rid. Annoying that we got nothing out of it. Looks like the same will happen with Imbula too once his loan finishes and no-one wants him. The difference being that Imbula will still have 3 years of his original 5.5 year contract left. So letting him go on a free will mean around £10m being freed up for wages.

Another thread where we've analyzed a player 'to death', A player that was simply too slow to play in the premier league. Once youve said that, youve pretty much said it all.

I'm losing track here.
Is it OK to wish Wollscheid well but tell Imbula to fuck off or do you have to wish both well or can you be over the moon that both have fucked off as they are basically non entities in Stoke history?
What's the protocol?

Is that why Hughes discarded him and gave him away without any sort of transfer fee? Get real, he was a very poor CB!

Why isn't Wolly playing for Metz?
It just seems so strange.

One for Grapey I think (hope)...... Why isn't Wolly playing for Metz? It just seems so strange. Yeah - it is a bit odd. He's not even getting on the bench for the worst team in the league by a mile. From their forum, seems a straightforward case of 'being a bit shit'! www.forum-fcmetz.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20369&start=40-My first post on this forum ... so do not fall over me please sequel :-)Given the current results of our team, our worst defensive status last season etc ... I wonder why not more confidence in this player. It is the best age for a footballer, was German international, went through good clubs ... so it can not be all bad. Personally I see mostly a player in lack of confidence that has just played the last 2 seasons, but I can not believe someone of 28 who was selected Mannschaft either burnt or can not find a league level 1 means quite satisfying to play Metz. -Without falling on you, it seems that those who are in training are now wondering if it is not his twin who signed.

Just to be clear we had two ninth place finishes with him as a regular and have gone backwards since , just a bit of balanced logic .

I would rather have wolly in our team than wimmer levy put another one over on us with him I disagree. Wolly wasn't as bad as some posters on here maintained. For me he was a classic case of a player who was as good as his last game. He could have a run of satisfactory games and then play a stinker. He could play play for 85 minutes, repeatedly making good plays and then commit a howler which lost the game. Fact is he just wasn't consistently good enough to warrant a place in a middle of the table premier league club and Hughes is trying to improve the team. Wimmer is a talented player who has got of to a poor start at Stoke (like Arni at WHU, it happens), but he has started to improve. He is clearly as rusty as an old bike, not playing regularly at Spurs and it is clearly going to take time to get him up to speed. But I can see he is a good athlete and has got a head on his shoulders; I'm confident that he will become an excellent player for us. Forwards get plenty of time to prove themselves. Arni and Bojan took a long time to settle in. Bony was given lots of games to settle. But defenders don't have that luxury, they have to play well from the "get go" or they immediately look a bad player. The spot-light was even more intense on Wimmer because of the transfer fee, thrown straight in to tough matches due the none availability of other CBs, I'm not sure how much experience he has had playing in a "3 at the back", and he clearly failed under the initial pressure. He has started playing better IMO, but if people are expecting faultless performances, they are expecting too much; we are not a CL club.

Pay no attention. Bayern still thinks Cameorn is shit, despite being a regular and key player for numerous years. He is. And how in Gods name is he a key player! When everyone is fit he shouldn't get in the side. And that's been the case since he signed. Marc Wilson was a regular for years. He was shit. Danny Collins was a regular. Dean Whitehead was a regular. Etc etc All utterly wank footballers. And re Wolly, when he left it was pretty much written that his attitude was part of it. Something that was poo pooed on here. And now he's gone to the worst team in the French first division and they won't even give him a game. 😂😂

He's an ok midfielder but that's all he has going for him. He seems such a sensitive flower and then you realise he allies himself with one of the most hateful people in the world. It's an odd contradiction.
