We haven't seen a working plan since Ethers and Beattie left. If Pieters can't play wingback and Berahino can't play on his own we should play 4 at the back and 2 up front. Next week I would play Butland Cameron Zouma Shawcross BMI Fletcher Allen Chopper Shaqiri Joselu Berahino Direct 4-4-2 and fuck 'em right up. Goarn STOKE!

Did you notice how no one was watching that scouser when he scored the goal. They were all ball watching. Shambles comes to mind!

A friend who is a West Brom fan keeps on telling me that Berahino is not a lone striker. I think that's blatantly obvious to everyone bar Hughes. Even the top strikers needed partners. Shearer and Sutton. Cole and Sheringham. Stein and Regis.

Big yes to get to the byeline and keep on getting the crosses in - but more important at this stage of the season for me is keep on doing exactly what we did first half at Goodison, build from the back, get secure in the solid spine of the team - dare I say it, Tone style. Then when we get into a run of genuinely winnable games from Bournemouth onwards we shoild be secure enough in this system to send the wing-backs forward and bang those crosses in - and in the meantime, take a few more risks on the break, hope/pray Bojan and Bera have a bit of form in them somewhere and look to pick up the odd goal. It may not be exciting but could be a hell of a lot solider than anything we've seen since Sparky's first season, for the goodreason he was taking over a TP defence (but also, sadly, a TP 'midfield'...)
