Personally I can see us going for something like: GK - Butland CB - Zouma CB - Shawcross CB - Bruno RWB - Diouf CM - Cameron CM - Fletcher CM - Allen LM - Ramdan RW - Shaqiri LW - Moting CAM - Jese CF - Berahino Am I adding up wrong, or is that 13 players? And what's the formation? I've gone for the 3-2-3-3-1-1, obviously.

Massive potential, will need to work hard though. Got a point to prove so I'm confident he'll be a success for us. Good signing (even if it is a loan).

Does BMI comes straight in for the weekend? Don't think Cameron put a foot wrong against Everton- thoughts??

If there's one slot open for
Jese Choupo Ramadan Bojan
..it's reasonably hard to see Bojan being here come September.
And it'll also be potentially a real waste of another developmental Sobhi season. Don't suppose it's conceivable that Ramadan could be a loan candidate?
Verlinden has become a nailed-on loanee.

Unless he does see Jese as a contender for the CF slot? If we went down the False 9 route again, it seems he's played there before.

Frigging hell, I'd gotten myself a bit more excited about this signing and now I've seen our attacking options, I'm even more sceptical over what Hughes' plan actually is. He's either going to have be strong and leave out a fairly big player regularly or he's going to arse around for another season, not really knowing his best team or formation.

So am I right in thinking that it's all going to click in the next game, with us all being thoroughly entertained, Hughes is going to realise it's a setup that works and stick with it for the rest of the season? Huzzah!

Surely if Joselu leaving was dependent on us signing Jese, Hughes sees Jese as an option up front?
I think we'll probably more likely see Choupo up top with Jese on the left.

As soon as this new striker arrives (assuming one will), the logjam there is going to be pretty sizeable too though! Until that happens, you could see Choupo and Jese being options there (although not primary ones) but as soon as the big money striker arrives, even Berahino and Crouch are going to struggle for serious game time, let along Choupo and Jese. It's all very interesting - and confusing. And I'm not sure the manager is any less confused, which is a bit of a worry!

Christ, so in unveiling a loan deal for another player we're actually going out of our way to have a swipe at Arnie... *as a club* now? We're a fooking Premier League club behaving like a wounded ex-girlfriend STOP FIXATING ON ARNAUTOVIC FFS

He's already binned Imbula though hasn't he? And yes Bojan's Stoke career must be over, that's evident by the new players that are being brought to the club.
I'm surprised eyebrows weren't raised a long time ago Okey but hey, it's their club.
I guess he's been lucky that Premier League hyperinflation sweetens the pill. They've cashed in on Arnie and got fees for some of the old guard. He's done pretty well on Joselu. If Allen goes to The Jacks it looks like he'll double his money in a year. Heaven only knows what Jack and Shaq are now worth. But the pressure is on for Bera and Hughesy. Their futures seem interlinked. He can't surely ditch another striker he's actively chased after less than 20 games?
The hyperinflation works both ways though doesn't it?
You get more money for the players you sell but replacing those players has also become more expensive (unless you bring in loans and free transfers) too.
It depends what you mean by 'ditch' Berahino? It seems the board are prepared to back Hughes in this area again, there's plenty of rumours that we're in for another front line striker.

Pleased with the signing but the video is very silly and will see us on the end of some deserved criticism. I love to see us hand some stick back but there are times and places. This is neither. I respect people's opinions who liked it, but I was wincing all the way through. Durham will love it. Absolutely. Like manna from heaven for the ginger fucker Plus it'll come back to bite us on the arse come May next year.

Yes, a very poor idea to give it the large one when your points total for the season reads 'zero'.

The suits must be happy with the sums is all I can assume. Perhaps he's about to deliver the Holy Grail of the 2015 galectico scintillating football, having cleared out a few older players, landed a couple of smart loans and frees, put £30 million in the bank with Tony Scholes spending £7m on Bruno. If the gets anything over £15 million for Imbula (which looks possible from Monaco), maybe they will sanction Bera is a long term relatively cheap gamble for a striker. The way the Premier League is at the moment, awash with TV money, you do your deals and build a squad for 1 season, then start again. If Bera bags a couple starting Saturday and on his return to the Baggies, I wouldn't be surprised if we stick until at least Christmas. MH could do with Saido delivering now.

This is what i don't understand, we chased Saido for a while and got him signed, Hughes wanted him so you'd think he had a plan...except
Our forward signings this summer suggest that Hughes is looking to fill our front line with "can play anywhere across the front" type players, both Moting and Jese fit that mould, as does Shaqiri, but where does that leave Berahino? Will we see something like
Diouf----Allen---Fletcher----LWB
---Shaq-----Moting----Jese---------
With those front 3 shifting? Then switching to maybe a 4-4-2 with Berahino and Moting/Jese up front if the match calls for it?

I'm amazed we're apparently going to get a pretty much guaranteed £12-13m for Imbula - and I would have said the chances of (almost) getting our money back on Joselu were really small the day before the Bolton friendly. Mind you, if Rafa wouldn't have been interested (and I'm still not really sure why he was), I think we'd have been scrambling around La Liga trying to haggle over what wage % some bottom-half team there would contribute for a season-loan - and can probably see that happening with Bojan as it stands.

Yes, I am amazed at the sell on fees for Imbula and Joselu too, although I think to some extent what nearly getting our money back has meant is hyper-inflation causing the market to catch-up with our original over valuations at purchase time!

We have far too many options available in those 3 front slots without more leaving. Maybe Crouch will go to villa but I can't see it. I think with how closely the Joselu/Jese deals were Hughes sees either Jese or Choupo as his new striker with Bera and Crouch as back up.

Might have to listen to the first few minutes.. I might be dreaming here but a part of me thinks we've done this so talksport can have another go at us and then we go and smash our transfer record to properly show them up.. unlikely, I know.
