Quality player who has played at the top level. May have lost some athleticism but still a quality player.

Nice to meet you too. 'Apoplectic'? Are you kidding? Suprised more like. Although internet comments may not not the best way of gauging the sentiments of football fans, the consensus of Albion fans' opinions would be far from outraged imo. Check out the last 5 pages of this thread - especially the comments before there was any hint of a move to Stoke. westbrom.com/forum/index.php?topic=15590.0Pre transfer examples: "The guy needs releasing, the only person holding us back more than Fletcher is the one who insists on picking him every game. Hopefully the reason he hasn't signed a new contract yet is that he has a bit of dignity and knows his time is up." "He'll be here next season there's no worries there, no other club would be stupid enough to pay him over £50k a week, his legs are gone. Yet another fabulous plot of our great manager to play him for so many games this season despite him being dire for the majority to trigger the automatic extension." "The thought of him trundling around the midfield for another season as our top earner is dreadful or worse still 12 months of that followed by 12 months of bench warming in the Championship. " I don't have to slag SB off, as you Oatcake guys seem to have cornered the market. Wow. I think you're a closet Stokie. Can't be a WUM with such a long and detailed rebuttal. Anyway I wouldn't be seen dead on another clubs messageboard so I'll decline your kind offer to soil my laptop on the Samba Board. But if it's any interest I work with 6 Baggies fans, all season ticket holders, who were all outraged a) that you'd let him go and b) that he'd come to us. I tend to base my opinions you see on real life, not nomark know nothing trolls from another message board. Thanks anyway. PS you have 40 odd posts on here all but about 3 taking the piss out of or slagging Saido. Just saying like. Sorry to disappoint you, but no Stokie. Just a bloke who is not so parochial or tribal enough to ignore valid topics on a public forum. Although you can cite 6 ST holders, I trust you will concede that I know and speak to a far higher numbers of WBA fans, who were not enamoured with DF's declining performances. He was a great signing and has been a fine example for his team mates and the younger players. However, with the physical demands that TP places on players in his 6 man defensive shield, DF was flagging at the end of last season. It may well be that SCFC will get more out of Fletcher, if he can be used in a less shackled system, but as you will know very well Tone's creative midfield requirements are minimal. WBA replaced DF with a 19 year old. Your PS is just factually incorrect, as anybody can view to confirm. How many of your 6 ST's are Tone fans?

One of the best signings Hughes has done IMO. Has the leadership qualities needed for this season. His ability and pedigree speaks for itself. First name on the team sheet for me.

His decline towards the end of last season, has been more a loss of concentration (and ball retention), rather that a purely physical deterioration And having a family member with a similar condition to DF's ulcerative colitis, I cannot believe that he was able to recover to play football at the highest level on a regular basis.

Darren Fletcher is miles better than 30 yr old plus championship midfielder glen whelan.
If he wasn't wed have kept him or someone not shit would have bought him.

Fletchy has made a good start to his Stoke career. He got forward more than I expected.

I accept my numerical accuracy leaves a little to be desired. At the time I'd posted you had 40 posts to your name and I must admit only a piddling 29 of those were about Saido so I apologise for such wanton exageration. However, that's where the innaccuracies of my allegations end. I haven't trawled through all 29 posts because quite frankly it make me a little queazy reading so much shite, but from the samples I dipped I would say there weren't many, infact I'll go as far to say any, that didn't have some dig or other at Saido or us for signing him. However, if I've missed anything please feel free to highlight any posts where you pointed out what a top bloke he was and how lucky we were to have signed him. No, on second thoughts don't bother because you really are a crashing bore and I won't be arsed to respond any further. So I refer you to the first sentence of my first response to you.
