He doesn't make defenders move or play one-twos expects everything. Needs to change or he is never going to get looks. Shaq and Bojan several times looked for him to make an angled run and he was looking back at them standing still. Frustrating.

When will Hughes realise he's not a lone striker? I feel so sorry for him. I think it's stick or twist time. Today we've battered them but haven't looked like scoring..... Until now Battered them? We were better first half, they were the better team after half time. Even game I would say. One mistake led to fat boy scoring and that was that. Have to agree with the Berahino no show though..... thought he was woeful today VERY low on confidence

He's hanging him out to dry mate ...takes him off brings on Crouch and somebody to play alongside him I like Hughes but he's testing my patience with this bollock...I just wish those here st Goodison would see it I don't think he knows how to get the best out of his players. He used to, but he's lost his mojo. Everyone can see Berahino isn't a lone striker but him. We need two up front as it stands. Most people can see that Berahino is Shite no matter what position/system you play him.

hes played his entire career playing off a big man, thats what hes good at. What does Hughes do? buys him and sticks him up top as a targrt man. He has NONE of the qualities for that. As long as Hughes keeps setting us up like that Bera won't score and we will constantly struggle to score full stop. If we started with the team we finished with we would have won

He's doing sweet FA up top on his own that's for sure.
When he had that prolific spell at WBA I seem to remember him running towards goal through the channels.
We're not playing him the way he can...

I'm not sure he would improve if he were to play in a 2. There's just no positives to his work rate, movement, hold up play, absolutely nothing. Clutching at straws with this one. Bojan was poor today but now and again, even today, he can show some of his natural ability I just don't see this with Saido. It's like KJ all over again I think it's actually worse than that, even if he ups his work rate, I still can't see him scoring!! He's not faster than the defenders like vardy aguero diouf etc Nor does he boss it in the air like kane carrol crouchy etc I just don't think he has the ability to play at this level

The bigger problem is that he's complete toss.
I'm taking a lot of positives out of today but if we persist with Berahino then the pre season prophecies of doom will come to pass sadly.

I want to give him a chance but if he had anything about him he would have a least been near to that pieters ball across the box.
I think we should buy a striker, still give bera a chance but we cant afford to gamble on him

No he isn't. It's not his fault that Hughes doesn't have a fucking clue about how to play him. He needs a second striker to hold the ball up and to play off of, he's not a lone striker.

Come on fella, you're telling me we were better than them second half?? Hughes could see they were dominating play, that's why he made the change to carry more of a threat up top. As I mentioned previous, I thought it was an even game. Just one mistake was the difference

The system isn't doing him any favours but he looks a shadow of the player he was. His pace isn't there, he doesn't look sharp, and he offers absolutely nothing in terms of link play.

With peiters and shaq not crossing, no attacking midfielders running at him even with 65% possession 30 mins in bossing everton we couldn't get a shot on goal. This setup doesn't suit him or anyone else. We were forced wide and then back inside and nobody would shoot or move making runs to turn defenders it is a garbage tactic 3-4-2-1 with our current crop of players tbh. Hughes is stubborn as hell and won't change it. One or two more in with Indi starting maybe different, but we literally had no midfield threat second half making rooney and klassen/davies look top 6.
