Sometimes stoke. Pay what a team is asking and show other players who may want to join, intentions of ambition. We are still bottom feeders and always have been. It doesn't matter who the manager is. Its the transfer policys of the club. Until that changes, we will never get players to progress the club.

It's called bartering, seller always puts a higher price on the player expecting to be knocked down, just like when you buy a house.

As this player recruitment and transfer malarkey's so easy I'm sure if you all send your extensive CV's in this arena in, Peter Coates would be more than willing to offer you the job(s).

We don't understand player negotiation at all, and that's the problem.

Understand that we need to budget and get players as cheap as we can but surely if we keep losing targets to other clubs we must be doing something wrong, just pay the club what they want and get the player in, surely finishing higher up the league will bring th extra cash in

But other clubs of similar standings to us seem to get decent aditions ? Even Bournemouth ! What I'm saying is, unless we adapt our buying strategies, we will fall behind and eventually regret not going the extra mile.... Bad start and panic buys start. Come Christmas, major panic buys. Because nobody wants to join a sinking ship.... Forget these friendly games. Next week is a guide to where we are. But we are desperately short on quality and cover for injuries.

As this player recruitment and transfer malarkey's so easy I'm sure if you all send your extensive CV's in this arena in, Peter Coates would be more than willing to offer you the job(s). It's simple just keep offering more money than the other teams for wages and transfer fees. Worked for Leeds Portsmouth, Rangers, Bolton turned out well for all of them

Let's be honest - no fucker on here understands fully, the intricate workings of a football transfer deal. Not even Bayern. 😎
If it were that simple - Real Madrid (biggest team in the world) would gave DeGea now. Probably even Fabian Delph.

I've got no experience of professional football but I went up Leek Town once. Just call you Dave kemp then. I will be explaining to the FA though that I wish to implement the system of replaying games until I get a favourable result or to wipe out an injury to a key player. Also so that if I miss a bargain player I can go back a few months and snap him up before the rest. Obviously this falls back to the point where I'm in negotiations at the moment with Iran and North Korea for some plutonium for my DeLorean in my Dad's shed if it's unobtainable I won't be submitting my CV as yet

I fancy swanning around apparently doing fuck all for big wads of cash. I don't really fancy standing behind you on the sidelines in January freezing my tits off in my shorts.

It isn't just signing players is it?
The sales of Arnie, SJW and Whelan for £Ms less than their value in the current market must leave other clubs chuckling.

I don't pretend to understand all the ins and outs of transfer deal but very often, it will be said that the clubs have agreed terms and its down to the player.
This is where I believe the agent has a huge influence. All the comments about Stoke on Trent may be valid if the players lived here, but they don't, they live in Cheshire etc.
We do appear to lack ambition on the pitch, last season was a disaster if you were wishing to attract players. Dismal cup runs poor league position isn't a good advert for the club. Success breeds success, sadly failure breeds failure.
Unfortunately success costs big money
