The one club that always amazes me is Norwich 28 thousand in the premier 28 thousand in the championship 28 thousand when they dropped to div one Remember asking them that question in a pub there in our promotion year the answer was there is fuck all else to d0 for 100 miles and we won't watch Ipswich whatever , having said that no time for people who club hop , having made my choice I'm stuck with Stoke for life with some admiration of other teams I've lived in Nottingham and I also go to Norwich regularly .My impression is that that Norwich is more of a "footballing" city than Nottingham, irrespective of the European cups and Cloughie. Not only do they get 28000 there is a waiting list for season tickets.

The one club that always amazes me is Norwich 28 thousand in the premier 28 thousand in the championship 28 thousand when they dropped to div one No other league club within 45 miles and a regional population very much focused on the city of Norwich itself (unlike the North East where there are several other big towns and cities other than Newcastle and Sunderland). Within 45 miles from Stoke (as the crow flies) you have 25 league clubs: Manchester United Manchester City Liverpool Everton Huddersfield West Brom Villa Birmingham Wolves Sheffield United Sheffield Wednesday Notts Forest Burton Barnsley Bolton Rotherham Shrewsbury Bury Rochdale Oldham Wigan Chesterfield Notts County Crewe Port Vale That may explain the reason for the 28 thousand But not the fact they remained 2 leagues lower Stoke also get 28 thousand the question is if the unfortunate happened and Stoke did drop into the 1st division for a season would the 28 thousand remain Are they supporters or glory hunters Oh and of course the small point that Stoke has Has 120 thousand more inhabitants in the city alone

It'd be fucking wank if we got relegated, I hate people dressing up relegation as anything other than the actual reality; that it would be a sickening disaster. As for Sunderland... I hate that fucking club, I'd love it if they got relegated again. Indeed. Some fans use it as a dick waving situation to validate their support, because the 'jlc's' would soon disappear. Very strange people.

Averaged 41000 last season. How can the ground be so empty just through relegation. Surely you support the team not the "premiere "league!! What would the bet 365 be like if we got relegated??? I always find it so amusing when Stoke Fans even attempt to adopt some kind of superior attitude or, point fingers towards the acts of other football supporters. the last few years have clearly demonstrated we are no better - no worse from 11,000 attendances before Xmas in our promotion season to, ' a packed and passionate fortress Brittannia' for those first few years in the premier league to :- the soulless ---- 'go on - entertain us', mentality we see now And those 'part fucking timers' we see today Quite happy, to bail out on your own club after an hour if, things are not going our way and nowadays half the fuckers leaving after 75 minutes anyways ---- not good by any measure SO completely wrong for stoke fans to judge others the solid evidence of the last decade is :- we are definitely no better probably no worse

It is not empty its just less full, shit Friday night KO, live on sky, Summer Holidays are in full swing, a nightmare of a relegation season, a football club that is being run in a chaotic couldnt give a fuck attitude to investment and betterment and has totally lost its way, a club that has repaid blind supporter loyalty with a slap in the face......pretty easy to see why 10K thought fuck it really.... And as for Stoke getting relegated, if we do not get back in two years.....20K will be for a very good game, 15-18K will be the norm

I never thought I'd see a modicum of success or entertainment. I'd given up to be honest, mainly because I was skint. I remember having a drunken argument one night with my mates saying that was me, had enough forever. Then to be fair pulis came, couldn't stand him but he gave me something to believe in! I will never judge stoke fans for giving up during those endless years of shit.

yep - but in truth weve got about 14,000 - maybe 15,000 'thru thick and thin'
hard core supproters and the rest, 'good time part timers' filling our ground presently
we've had worldwide exposure too and that will have have affected our broader fan base
but nowhere near to the extent people might imagine or hopE though.
Other clubs are simply light years better than we are at overseas marketing - our is
lamentable ! Take Egypt with Ramadonna - absolutely nothing done yet with a massive marketting opportunity any village idiot can see
we got to win something to improve that too !
Be interesting to see how our attendances go this season given our increased capacity and uncertainty as regards what sort of team we willbe putting out.

It will be a near sell out every week again Tony. And we are in the verge of a few very good signings.

Yes I hope you are right - but we need two or three good ones right now to make up for the last two expensive flops
which, to my eyes have been disasterous and even, threaten our status as a premier league club

I think Stoke fans enjoy being a bigger fish in a small pond, much like when we were getting big gates under Macari in the third. A promotion chasing season in the championship would see us average 23-25k.

C'mon, this is disappointing. Normally your facts are beyond dispute, but everyone knows that Manchester is bi-located in China and Abu Dhabi!

mick --- Bigger stadium was bleeding obvious no matter what i think about our support
in terms of quality or numbers
and if its full at the start with peolpe paying for tickets that entirely different to the stadium emptying as it does right now
this thread is about how, some of our supporters somehow think we are a superior lot to say Sunderland's
when plainly, we are not
that new corner will be filled for the bigger games and even cup matches but, not when we are playing the likes of Huddersfield or Burnley on a monday night - that much has always been fucking obvious
it will still pay for itself in time however and, opens opportunity for Stoke City to stage internationals again and, perhaps most of all - stops the ground looking 'plain embarassing' on TV
