The worrying thing is that he's not( if the stories are true) been offered a new contract. Why hasn't it been sorted before now unless we're looking to sell or let him go which he can do next year? Letting an asset go into the final year is always a risk so you have to think that he's not wanted?

OK so don't believe him and his wife. I know you like to swallow any old club swill so believe the club then, who have also confirmed that he hasn't been offered a contract. Happy now? I dont believe any old swill from the club, wheres it been announced that he hasnt been offered a contract, if I missed it I apologise, and Ive never met Ryan or his wife so havent discussed this with them. There's quotes galore since May confirming it with his wife confirming that there is still no offer a few days ago. Just more evidence of the unfathomable sense of chaos at the club. It's like no one is in charge.

Yes he's not what he was in terms of ability, he's still a more than viable option for us. I can't see any truth in this but then again we seem to be letting a few players go this summer.
Even though we need an upgrade we can't lose him. Next year yes but now with the players who have left us this summer we can't afford to let another first team player leaving.

Everything oozing out of the club at the minute suggests it simply cannot manage its own affairs. Shambolic would be too kind a word.

I hope the next time Ryan plays at Turf Moor is on December 12th,as captain of Stoke City. Too fucking right pal. He's the last man standing from the siege mentality/fortress britannia era we had when we got promoted. I'll be devastated if he leaves.

I can't believe some of what I'm reading here. Letting him go would be suicide. Stories of his demise are, in my opinion, hugely exaggerated. I know you have contacts in Burnley Dave. Is this definitely true? I would say it is definitely true. Whether the club would accept a bid or whether the player himself would actually welcome the move, I've absolutely no idea.

If we sell shawcross before buying a replacement I think we can safely say something is very very wrong and the truth in the end will out , At what point does my predicted squad implosion become reality I'd say with such a deal if we don't have a replacement in the door same day . My bosses mate who works at the club reckons something is going on.Quite a lot of unrest I believe.

Sentiment aside. We've had the best out of Ryan. Had to adopt the zonal marking system last season to accommodate his particular attributes. He's been beige for a while though and we need someone who'll score more at set pieces and that. 50pence head. Be ok by me if he moves on.
Part of the rollercoaster.

It wouldn't surprise me if he was to end up there, and to be honest much as it pains me to say it I reckon that he'd better off going there, he'd be a great fit.
When looking at their squad it reminds me of ours when we first went up. No realy big names, plenty of graft. I feel like Ryan thrives in that sort of environment and reckon he'd probably enjoy his football more there. Not suggesting that he doesn't get on with our squad, but I could just imagine Burnley having better comradery than us.
Also the fact that he's entering the final year of his contract and seemningly hasn't even been offered a new one yet probably doesn't make him feel the most wanted. I'd imagine that even if Burnley offered him a pay cut and an extra year deal vs what we might eventually offer him he'd seriously consider it.

Sorry but the truth is he just isn't the same player since he started with his back problem. Its not like a broken leg where the bone can grow stronger. Once your back has gone as a professional athlete you are knackered. He doesn't go in for tackles the same, his pace (never really blessed with speed) has gone, he has the turning circle of the QE2 and he no longer scores goals from set pieces like he used to do. The very sad thing though is who have we got to replace him ??

I thought you played at a decent level and knew your stuff? If you think Muni is a centre back then you know nothing He is a decent centre back. Why do you think he played for Barcelona? Are you really going to try and claim that myself and all the scouts and coaches at Barcelona know fuck all about football? Laughable mate. You're making out he was Carlos Puyol's sidekick.Muniesa never started a game for Barca.

Whilst we have traditionally been absolutely wank in smooth transfers, there has to be more to the current goings on.......I believe you have to intentionally try to be this incompetent. Something just isn't right.
