I have it on fairly good authority that Burnley have submitted an offer for our captain today.
He wouldn't go there would he? We wouldn't accept it would we?

If we got Bruno in then it might happen. Ryan isn't the player he was before his back injury.

Perhaps, more to the point, we should wait and see how quickly the club would reject such an offer. Undue prevarication might even illustrate that things are not so hot between club and captain?

Speaking of Shawcross... how come he hasn't signed a new contract yet?
I mean, I hope we've offered him one.

If we sell shawcross before buying a replacement I think we can safely say something is very very wrong and the truth in the end will out ,
At what point does my predicted squad implosion become reality I'd say with such a deal if we don't have a replacement in the door same day .

If we got Bruno in then it might happen. Ryan isn't the player he was before his back injury. I have always liked Ryan but I agree that, if we got Indi we might consider letting him go. He's not the player he was and I'm not sure how many years we should extend his contract by. And if we don't extend his contract we will lose him for nothing in 12 months time. Sweeney may be ready to fill his boots in a year but that is the gamble.

If he's not happy with what we are offering as a new contract. Then yep sell now or loose for nothing

We might as well let him go. We've got Souttar ready to step up. This deal would then take the transfer net spend to -40m. Tony Scholes just needs another 5m in credit then he get his 10% bonus.

The fact that no extension has been agreed and his strange reply to the Newcastle question at the end of last season. The fact that Fletcher left a captaincy at West Bromwich could all point to the fact that Stoke as a club have their reservations about his future. Although would be a shock departure! He might have expressed a desire to leave.

Normally you'd dismiss this kind of talk.
But something a little bit strange is going on with this contract, whether it's Shawcross' demands or something else entirely.
Would Burnley be prepared to offer more than we would though? No chance you'd think, unless Hughes has lost faith in him.
With a year left on his deal, wouldn't have thought they'd stretch to £10m.

Depends on how much they offer. Taking nothing away from Shawcross' contribution to getting this club where we are today, it has to be said he hasn't looked the same player since his back surgery.

So can't see selling Ryan would make a difference to selling arnie with out back up to these clowns

I couldn't see Burnley offering more than us
Whilst he isn't the player he was, it'd be daft to let him go IMO without a replacement, which is why we could do with BMI being signed up
Pretty much makes Jack or Fletcher the two contenders for next Captain of the club if he goes
Tbf no fucker knows what's going on with his contract, could be a clash of demands from both parties

Saw his wife tweet out the other day that Stoke haven't offered any sort of deal to him yet which, to be honest, is terrible.
