Watch Berahino score Saturday n he'll be the best thing since steino. I personally don't think we should be selling joselu.

Walters was quoted in the irish media has saying that berahino was getting picked ahead of him ' even though he wasn't playing particularly well ' You can interpet that how you like Find me the quote. first I've heard and Walters has never seemed the type to diss his team mates. Albeit he was unhappy at not playing but I don't believe he's called out Bera particularly. He did exactly that but never forgot he's the consummate professional who would die for the cause and is a huge loss to the club.

Will be interesting to compare his goal scoring record to Sadio come the end of the season

If he does well it will raise questions about the ability of our coaching staff to develop and use attacking players effectively And if he does not do well, it will raise questions about ......? I'm always amazed at how often, when Stoke players move on to pastures new, they suddenly are judged to be far better players than when they were here. If Jos had not continued in his pre-season scoring vein, people would be calling for his head, Hughes' head and wailing that we should have taken Newcastle's money when we had the chance. Hindsight, eh?

Hughes is mercurial in his approach to who he likes and who he does not like........much like Pulis was. Joselu clearly was not going to get a chance at Stoke so I guess selling him for even a small profit makes sense. His sale frees up some money for a player who is wanted. Good luck to Joselu......just not against us!

Really don't get this one. Why would we sell our only in-form striker whilst persisting with one who is seemingly miles behind and nowhere near as sharp or hungry?
In pre-season if you were to show a highlights video of both strikers to a neutral and ask which one we were selling one there isn't a sane person who would say Joselu.

Is he even going to start games there ahead of Gayle and Mitrovic?

Is he even going to start games there ahead of Gayle and Mitrovic? I actually like Joselu, but it's amazing how a 10 minute cameo against Bolton and a wonderstrike against St Pauli have propelled him to a new level because he's leaving us......

Perhaps if Berahino had shown anything whatsoever recently people might think differently?

I think Gayle is injured and Rafa doesn't rate Mitrovic....he's been trying to sell him Gayle's fit, played 75 minutes against Spurs. I'm seeing Joselu as this seasons Daryl Murphy. Different option from the bench but won't start that much. Unless of course he proves a better option than Dwight.

So just as the guy starts to show form in pre-season we up and sell him for a paltry £5m to one of our rivals in the league‽ Who the fuck is in charge of this shit? If he goes on to score double figures for the barcodes, then whomever authorised this deal needs showing the fucking door immediately.

Can't help but think we will regret this. If he was going abroad then fair enough, but to sell him for such a low fee to a mid table rival is asking for trouble. I can see him getting 7-12 goals if he plays enough games.
Don't they play 442 and he's be much better suited in a two up top.
What a boost this will give his confidence too knowing that a fellow Spaniard wanted him and that Rafa had been aware of him/watched him over the last few years.

Somebody said early last year that one big sign of our current problems is that our strikers magically begin to seem a lot better when they're not playing. After a few games of Joselu not making much impact, I suppose that Crouch or N'Goy would be the great goalscoring hope.

Joselu has scored a few goals in a few appearances. Berahino has done utter nothing in a long string of games. Hughes miles ahead of Pulis in the Pig-headedness League.

Don't knock Crouchie: he was our top scorer last season and is likely to do it again this year. And the missus likes him!

I like joselu, he has a bit of quality which in the right team could be very effective. Good luck to him, i think he is a very good signing for Newcastle and too cheap in my opinion.

Sad to see him go. He did affect a few games in a positive way.
Never given a real chance to show his true ability.
I hope he is a complete failure at Newcastle.
