Snapped my collarbone when I was about 12, it's healed well enough but you'll be left with a fair bit of scar tissue and some restricted movement if it's as bad as it sounds, mine also clunks if I rotate it a certain way.
Best thing for it is about two weeks of complete rest then start trying to move it gradually again so it doesn't start atrophying, don't do too much though otherwise you'll know about it rather abruptly.

one thing make sure when you are cleared to by the hospital that you move it and make sure your wiggling your hand etc to make sure the bloods flowing mate had her shoulder rebuilt through injury and was not as strong as before make sure you do all the physio that they say as this will be important for recovery even though it will be painful ask your physio or hospital if squeezing a sponge ball will help with recovery (keeps muscles moving and also pumps blood brings down swelling)

Did my collarbone also, there's no other advice I can give other than keep very, very still for two weeks.

Bloke I know recently bought himself a fancy £3k pushbike. He's come off it, smashed the thing up & broke his collarbone. Thing didn't mend properly, so he's had it rebroken & plated. Tw@t

Is that advice or a self proclamation Craig? I have never had a fractured or dislocated shoulder. Make of that what you will.

So I've just started physio last week, got my shoulder full of metal bolts and plates. Just wondering if anyone's got experience with a broken humerus curious how long I should expect to be off work for? Haven't had chance to see the doc yet.

it was my wanking hand tbf gonna be weird with the right I'm left handed but wank with my right due to breaking my left wrist as a 15 year old, it was in plaster for 6 months so I had to train my right hand to do the business and I've never changed back. So don't worry you'll soon get used to it.

I dislocated mine at work about 12 years ago and I was off for 12 weeks in total think the physio went on for 5-6 weeks and then got the all clear.

Looks like I've properly fucked myself up! Looking like I'll never be able to lift my arm above my head again and I'm off for at least 6 months.
