Last season he played: Right Midfield 12 Left Midfield 8 Central Midfield 4 Defensive Midfield 1 Right Back 1 Left Wing 1 Also - interestingly (for geeks like me anyway) - he only finished 6 full 90 minutes... either subbed on, or subbed off in the majority of games. Hughes really wouldn't know where to play him! Neither does Wenger looking at that.....

I think Liverpool are a good fit for him. Probably would get some games there too.
But none of the other big sides look a good fit - he obviously wouldn't go to Spurs!
Outside of them, he's probably looking at a smaller club if he wants 30+ games-a-season, especially if he wants a chance in midfield

I really couldn't imagine the arse wanting to do business with us more likely back to southampton I don't think they would want to sell him to a team competing for the top four but would he prefer to play to make the world cup or take his chances as a squad player on £150k- £200k per week at Man City or Chelsea. Would be an amazing deal if we could pull it off and a realistic prospect of doubling our money in 12-18 months if he performs anything like.

No idea what their wage structure is though.

That's brilliant if we can pull it off 9 goals in 129 games no thanks Are you joking? This is the first link that excites me. If true, and comes off, what a statement of intent!

When he signs no one is allowed to refer to him as "The Ox" as it is truly wank. Ok? It's "Chambo" whether he likes it or not.

..... needs games if he wants to regain an England place. Moving to stoke should do wonders for his international career. That's the line we have to take to him, isn't it? World Cup year and if he wants to be in the England manager's thoughts, he has to be playing regularly. He's not getting that at Arsenal. You think that he'd break the bank (and then some) for us, so you'd hope that we've been given some kind of indication that he'd consider a move. This link has come from The S*n, so, it is treated with a certain amount of caution from me.

Moving to stoke should do wonders for his international career. It hasn't done Jack Butland any harm. It's a bit different for goalkeepers because being in a shit team allows a good goalkeeper to be noticed. They win man of the match awards, top the table in number of saves, etc. It's difficult to be noticed if you don't face many shots. Pickford and Heaton got England caps last season because of their shit teams, not despite.

As far fetched as this may seem at first glance, he's a pretty grounded person by all accounts. Perhaps the absolute guarantee of games at Stoke for a couple of years to get him back on the radar is what he needs. I don't feel like he'd be such an integral part of any of the top 7. His long term goal is being England regular and he isn't going to achieve that unless he plays regular football. Fingers crossed it's true and we're willing to push the boat out.
