It seems to me that, he has taken a while to get to a place in his head where he can play football again, after the sad death of his mum .It could be that hughes has been protecting him. I love his enthusiasm and a good player that always gives all. I think he`ll be played up top this season and he`ll score a few. I`ve got to say I`m not sure yet about berahino , looked lost mostly against Monaco , although plenty of games left to get up to speed. I agree with your point about protecting him.

He said earlier in the year that Hughes should play him up front and he will show he can score goals , I've been in contact with you jizz to ask them to give me the chance to show them I can be a porn star 😀

9 times out of 10 he'd of put that shot he scored from, out for a throw in.

If he's missing as many chances as he's scoring then that's the instincts of a good striker....obviously shows he's popping up in the right places!!! Plus the chances he misses aren't all necessarily shot wide....a fair few have been saved, which is more credit to the keeper saving them, than the inability of Diouf scoring them!!! Diouf has a rather irritating habit of putting his headers straight at the keeper and in one on ones with the keeper he misses many more the he scores Yesterday he hit the post when it was easier to score. We need better and I am not sure that is Berahino. Next season we will lose Annie's and Walters goal contribution. At the moment I can see who is going to deliver in front of goal. Many on here merely want defensive improvements...but you simply have to score. No coincidence the 3 lowest scoring teams got relegated last season Bera is a much better finisher than Diouf, he needs chances created for him not just long punts in the hope he can run onto it like Diouf with his pace, atm we don't have the players to do it, along with a new back 4 the priority should be a midfielder with the skill to make the pass.

Diouf is good in the air, better than on the ground anyway. I'd hazard a guess that roughly half of his 17 league goals for us are headers? In Germany 50% of his goals were headers, its what always annoys me, we just don't cross enough for him!

Either your wingers get more goals (like arnie) or they play more orthodox (which ours don't do) and cross for the striker.

If delph signed we could actually go 433 at home
Sobhi ngoy diouf Delph Fletcher Allen Back 4
Would be interesting...a fair few stoke fans would go no Bojan? No shaq?
But I bet the opposition back 4 would drop back ten yards!

Diouf will miss plenty of chances before he bags a goal but fact is, there are usually chances created in a game when he plays up front.

I like diouf but Let's not kid ourselves he doesn't finish like that everytime.
As it stands he's our best option, although berahino is taking over that mantle.

Never really played to his strengths have we. Think we all know technically he's not the best and aswell as he has performed out of position at RB/RW he just isnt suited to those roles. Play him uptop let him chase lost causes, run onto through balls and get on the end of crosses and he will score goals. He has a habit of being in the right place and whilst he will always miss a few, as somone has already mentioned chances are normally created with him in the side.

He's the best right back at the club. That is a massive issue. Also the best central striker at the club. He is now that Walters has gone.
