RIP littl'un, an absolute inspiration. I hope this whole sorry episode has encouraged more footballers, or anyone else in such a position to get involved with any kid in the same circumstances. All credit to Defoe, I've no doubt he made this lads final days very special.

An absolute inspiration to not only the region and club, but to the country and the world. I'll always remember seeing him come out as mascot against Chelsea and sprinting around. You would not for one moment think he was battling this illness, he even managed to send Begovic the wrong way and not many manage that! Defoe has been superb with the lad, other players of course have been great (special mention to Mannone who visited regularly) but Defoe is his best mate and has lived up to the title as a role model. Bradley Lowery has only been on this Earth a short time, but he leaves a legacy that will last for the rest of our lives. His bravery has been nothing short of inspirational and has helped raise awareness for this rare form of cancer. The substitute board has now risen, the talented football mad youngster is now set to make his debut. Coming on for heaven number 1; Bradley Lowery. RIP little one Very nicely put. RIP Bradley, you have made a difference in your short time with us

Absolute legend. 100% respect to Jermain Defoe. Too easy to slate the modern day footballer, but this shows him for the class act he is.
