So by the end of September we will have played 7 games. If we have 21 points MH is a genius if we none he is probably sacked and somewhere in-between he is OK, but realistically where are the splits?
15+ Genius
10 - 15 Better than expected 5 - 10 OK
0 - 5 Sacked

Think we will have about 7/8 points, and about 4/5 from the bottom...!!!!! But Oct/ Nov are crackers and we will be 9th.

Are you asking, what will be the points tally, in the new season, after 7 games? If so, what relevance does that have to the whole season?
Or is this just a thread to show dissent against LMH (OBE)?
How can any sensible fan form an opinion on the future of LMH (OBE), after a tough seven game start to the season?

What if we get 15 points, from really tough fixtures, but then get 5 points from the next 7 easier ones?
Edit: I don't think we will get 15 points from the first seven games by the way.
Just think that although we didn't beat any of the top sides last season we have before plenty of times but what usually goes with that is sloppy defeats to poor sides.

I think he should have already gone tbh, however as he hasn't then I hope he proves me wrong as no matter what manager (idiot) whatever we have in charge I want us to win.
The results may well be a side show and the way the team play could be of more importance.
They know they have a tough start if they lie down then that will imo spell the end , if they give their all however what more can anyone ask. the managers job is to get the best out of his squad. No where does it state he has to perform miracles against the top sides.

It's a bit of a silly "What if" thread IMO.

I can's see how we expect to be sitting top of the league with 21 points with that start although of course it is what we all hope for. Most fans do have a sense of realism, however I've spoken to a lot who are genuinely concerned this season and would probably take 15th now.

We have to play them all twice eventually so may as well get some toughies out of the way early. Mainly it's about being ready to start strong and not be waiting for players or their fitness. We can do this.

You claim to have played football at a decent level, and therefore have a good knowledge of the game. I'm sorry but you have absolutely no knowledge of the game at all. Being able to play the game, doesn't in any way shape or form, mean that a person "knows" the game. Alan Hudson being a very good example.

It's not going to be something new if we start the season poorly AGAIN. If he loses the first 7 games he will be sacked then we can assume Peter Coates doesn't know the fucking game either.

I don't think the (probably drunk) original poster is asking what we will have after the first 7 games, but asking where are the splits for the points in reflection to Hughes' performances?
So, 0-5 sacked, or 0-3 sacked? Or just 0?
5-10 ok, or 3-12 ok?
And so on....?
For me, I'm pretty much in agreement with the original post, I'd like 21, and honour Hughes with free oatcakes for life if that was the case, but anything less than 5, would be twitchy bum time.
Depends on each performance to. We could get a point from Everton, but be 2-0 down on 80 minutes and bang in 2 late goals. That would feel like a victory to me. Boring 0-0 draws and 'dropping' points from winning positions though and I'd be asking serious questions personally.

What about if we win the first 6 games 1-0 but then lose 7-0, sitting in 2nd spot with a -1 goal difference?
Cause to some on here a positive goal difference is more important than points on the board....

You can't even look at the fixture list and put the first seven games into the context of the full season. I'm even wondering if you have, in fact, looked at the fixture list? From your posts, it seems that you haven't.

Losing the first 7 games shows we haven't changed at all, there are winnable games there. If it's the same pre-season and the same lackluster start then it's proof that Mark Hughes cannot work with the team he has. Yes the first 7 games don't sum up a full season, but this isn't a new manager and we don't have a "weak" squad.
